A five-minute minor phreatomagmatic eruption occurred at the Main Crater of Taal Volcano on Thursday evening, Oct. 8, producing a dark gray plume that rose 4,000 meters above the crater.
The eruption began at 6:06 p.m. and was confirmed through seismic and camera recordings from the Taal Volcano Network, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said. (Video courtesy of DOST-PHIVOLCS)
