00:00The Type 01 is Jaguar's first car under its new electric luxury strategy.
00:05Jaguar is moving into a more expensive market, selling fewer cars to wealthier buyers.
00:11Despite the fears and the anger we saw last year after the advertising and the concept,
00:21I think the final product is better than expected in terms of design and positioning.
00:31And in my opinion, even though it's a risky move, I think it's the right way ahead for such a
00:40troubled brand as Jaguar.
00:42The four-door car has a long bonnet and uses a camera to give drivers a view behind them.
00:47Its three motors deliver enough power to reach 100 kilometers an hour in just over three seconds.
00:53The company promises around 640 kilometers on a charge under the U.S. testing standard.
01:00The starting price of 151,000 euros puts it well above most of Jaguar's previous cars.
01:06It's definitely a niche car. It's not for everybody, not only because of its price,
01:12but it expects and the design itself because it's nothing similar to what we have seen so far in other
01:22cars,
01:22not even from China.
01:24So considering this, the target audience is mainly because wealthy drivers
01:35who want something different from what is already available.
01:40Production is due to begin next year when Jaguar will start to see whether its new approach translates into sales.
