00:01Krista is a survivor. She survived child sexual abuse. She survived rapes of
00:06multiple men. She survived a suicide attempt when she was 12 and she survived
00:10the state's attempt to execute her. She deserves answers about what was done to
00:15her and the people of Tennessee deserve those answers too. On Monday night it was
00:21our understanding that Krista was brain dead and that life support would be
00:25removed the next day. But on Tuesday, to the shock of everyone, including me,
00:31including her team, and including the medical team, Krista woke up and began
00:34talking. I do not have an explanation for what happened between Monday night and
00:41Tuesday morning, but what we do know is that Krista has a long road to recovery.
00:46I was not in the room when she woke up, so I don't want to speculate too much.
00:50Well, our understanding was the first thing she said was, where am I and who
00:54are you? She is very aware that the state tried to execute her. And again, I
01:00want to, I don't want to say what she remembers and what she doesn't remember
01:04at this point, because I think that's evolving. And I want to be very, very
01:09careful of that. But she's very aware of what, what they did, what they did to her
01:14up to a point. And that's as best I can do.
01:20Well, I want to say, thank you very much for the last time.
01:21I have a chance to hear from you.
01:22Thank you very much.
01:22Thank you very much.
01:23Now, let me try.
01:23You
