00:01Where is the money going?
00:03Ahead of the Budget 2027 announcement, we crunched over a decade of data.
00:07The three ministries that have consistently received the biggest allocations are finance, education and health.
00:14The top spot has changed hands between the education and finance ministries over the years.
00:19Meanwhile, the health ministry remained in third place throughout all 11 years.
00:23From 2016 to 2026, it received about RM370 billion in total.
00:28That sounds substantial, until you consider what Malaysia's public healthcare system is expected to deliver.
00:34The health ministry funds one of the country's biggest public service systems.
00:37It covers hospitals, healthcare workers, medicines, medical supplies, ambulances, beds and facility upgrades.
00:45And this system serves Malaysians regardless of demographic.
00:48It's also a system that is under growing strain.
00:51Severe manpower shortages, aging facilities, insufficient beds, rising medicine costs, the list goes on.
00:58And COVID-19, a once-in-a-century pandemic, exposed long-standing weaknesses in the public health system.
01:04But even then, the highest budget allocations never went towards health.
01:08Today, demand could rise further as rising insurance premiums and medical inflation leave more Malaysians dependent on public healthcare.
01:16Industry experts have repeatedly argued that public health spending needs to reach at least 5% of our GDP.
01:22So the question for Budget 2027 is whether or not these calls will be heard.
01:27Sure, you know, there's no way that needs to be heard, but the last question for the US education is
01:30not expected.
01:30I think that is the best of the population of the country.
01:31The US education is Of the United States, California's, California.
01:35The US education is the UK.
