00:04A former American Idol contestant will spend the rest of his life in prison for murdering
00:09his wife, but Caleb Flynn is still insisting he didn't do it.
00:13Flynn broke down in an Ohio courtroom Monday as he apologized to his family, starting with
00:18his two daughters.
00:19But when it came to the murder of their mother, Ashley Flynn, he said this.
00:24But as I stand here before God, who is my ultimate judge, I am not one when I say I
00:35did not kill
00:36my wife.
00:37The judge sentenced Flynn to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
00:42A jury convicted him last week of murdering his 37-year-old wife at their home in Tip City,
00:47Ohio.
00:48Prosecutors say Flynn shot Ashley twice in the back of the head while she was asleep, then
00:53staged the house to look like someone had broken in.
00:55Flynn told investigators he was in another room when she was killed.
01:00Prosecutors said data from his devices showed him moving around the house when he claimed
01:04he was asleep.
01:05The jury also heard from Aaliyah Botner, who testified she had been having an affair with
01:10Flynn.
01:11Prosecutors showed jurors a text Flynn sent Botner the night before the murder, saying actions
01:17will come tomorrow.
01:18Judge Jeanine Pratt addressed Flynn directly before sending him to prison, saying, The layers
01:23of deceit, manipulation and cruelty that you have shown are quite honestly impossible to
01:29fathom, and frankly sir, you used your faith to manipulate the lives of others.
