00:01goes the run fest in the one-day internationals a much-traveled Indian
00:05team all the way from Nishin in Japan now in Lucknow are here to take on the
00:11West Indies in the first of five T20 internationals
00:18the Mithubma the Mutut FinCorp T20 internationals here the first of those at
00:25the Bharat Ratna, Atal Bihari, Bajwa, Ikana, Stadion, Sheho fresh after
00:29some incredible batting form and Shreya Sayer fresh from a night at home here in
00:36Lucknow on his way back from Japan right both both captain said at the toss that
00:41that much rather have bowled first we had seven IPL games here last year in every
00:46one of those the team that won the
00:50so the West Indies will almost the norm look at in the IPL to sing in there
00:57getting the ball because of the kind of weak bowler and that was Bhumra so he
01:00comes in to lead the attack here that speed gun
01:10custom everywhere now at most Indian
01:14score here is a hundred and seventy two just a hundred thirty hundred and forty
01:18score time he comes here how good a player he is very very little T20 cricket and
01:24striding and that incredible kick crickets for 50 hours and about coming a cool run
01:28on the bat of a very good Caribbean stay and marching Patriots click with
01:34bubble so it's a late entrant they hope what we've seen so many players have
01:39averaged 30 striking at a strike rate of 30 right it's now time for the Asian
01:45defense cut textures are let's play
01:53a little bit of swing but away from the right-hander it's a ball he bolts very
02:03well and it does but probably doing a little too much
02:06too much
02:14swings the other way it's a good start
02:16well also be interesting to figure out is was there a temptation from West Indies to
02:22play Amir jungle he'll go through with a shot but the ball was swinging away from
02:27him but he's trusting the bounce trusting his instinct first boundary comes up for
02:33Shea hopes so many in the ODIs now he started in the T20
02:47well we forgot have Maya to come who's been in fantastic so good movement early on this white
02:56ball is done a little bit in the first over
03:05into the pads no support there all so all he needed was baton ball boundary
03:14Murli Karthik reminded us that a few nights ago Shea hope got that magnificent hundred and fifty
03:24he is in such good form he's he's backing himself and I think already he's trusting this
03:30pitch yeah you have to her site's a good looking surface it's got a sprinkling of
03:36grass it's a red soil surface which means the bounce is always going to be good
03:42there is the field a slow ball already from the fast man the nature of the modern so
03:47India going in with their 8 batter formula when a very good looking batter plays a slog it
03:56looks West Indies new opening pier for the West Indies picks the gap on the offside now
04:03almost set himself up to play through the offside and that slower ball from
04:11uh Mankyadav gave him the opportunity more boundaries more boundaries it's probably just
04:21been sitting in his room hitting balls in his mind it's that easy 21 for no loss
04:28well what he's doing is playing the field Karthik as you said
04:34now it doesn't matter what the height is first ball has gone to the boundary for four he'll get
04:40a free hit after that too probably just the Yorker gone awry it doesn't matter to Kamilpura and he's
04:49got a boundary of the first ball stories and it doesn't matter where you play
05:02it was interesting looking at that squad of West Indies is there a a trend
05:11good Yorker there just one Jamaican one from leeward islands Guyanese better in t20 right
05:21the swingers died certainly the lengths didn't allow to swing but generally they've already gone past
05:30straight away going short in the second over lots of movement in the first but shorter in IPL the
05:36boundaries to me seems slightly
05:42seven of the over three gone 28 for no loss
05:50great form
05:53bowling consistently in the power plays please
06:00now two right-handers just short
06:11I'm glad you brought up the uh square so much space here it's a giant
06:18well balled again just push the boundary ropes back a little further
06:23yeah absolutely what the batters see visually huge field it's the visual effect on a batter as he goes
06:30inside out Kamil against Akshay Patel who he might be facing for the first time and nicely played for
06:41reading the field
06:45once again on the bounce to the man in the deep eight of Akshay Patel's first to over four
06:55squeezes this one through that cover point region
06:59right so to Sunil Gavaskar in the commentary but leading from the front
07:08just wide of that off stump the angle Aaron good evening Sonny G I think uh India have already
07:14bouncers used so far
07:20maybe off the inside edge Kamil Puran
07:25sighs in frustration and the breakthrough finally comes by Ash
07:38and he gets a boundary low list wrist stroke just angling down the leg side
07:47a little frustrated with himself Arsteep Singh
07:51looking to bring the ball from leg stump possibly oh
07:57more runs for Hetmeyer
08:00well India had to
08:07it's a fairly wide delivery she hope so after 544 for one
08:15this is a very important over from West Indies and Shea hope standpoint
08:20and this is an overweight
08:25good work very good work but it doesn't prevent the single
08:34that will get worried on that occasion
08:36it was the attempt for the run out the vision is out
08:41544 for two
08:45already with a t20 international century that was against England
08:51big test coming up for a setup
08:53way
08:54way yes that's that
08:59over
09:00yeah
09:01and got him
09:03two dog balls
09:05and that's all it took for Roman Panic Powell to go across the line
09:10the nagging length and line of accept for a three ball duck
09:14West Indies 44 to have this early an entry point in the inning
09:18way
09:19way
09:20and it is confirmed a double wicket maiden well bowled Axa 44 for three
09:28all
09:44the last player at t20 international
09:47the last player at t20 international
09:49goes inside out
09:52shea hope
09:56looking at that replay
09:57many of you might be thinking that hetmeyer bat was beyond the crease
10:01he should not have just gone in a touch and then pop back up
10:07so close
10:09inside edge
10:11will bring a boundary for
10:13chafain rutherford so
10:15gets off the mark and the 50 comes up for the west indies
10:23and the beauty
10:25turn on offer
10:2750
10:29well puran
10:31just reflecting on
10:32i was waiting to see what she hopes approach will be first over took him down
10:39and back into the attack ease him in
10:41india
10:44yeah it's coming on the back of a very good phase with the ball for india three wickets
10:52both these batters people of
10:55his life
11:06either the pace is above 145
11:09and have a look at this particular over as well
11:12just about every single delivery apart from the first and the third delivery he's bold
11:17slow
11:19full deep
11:23will clear the boundary easily for six
11:29it's an early contender for the
11:34there's a thought for everybody
11:36if we can use ball tracking to check if something was ultra edge to check with sissional
11:42lawmaking and logic says that the bills have to be dislodged
11:46with the ball hits the stumps to say that's bold
11:52just to respond to what you said harsha
11:56putting my legal hand of his first night so far
11:59there's another big one
12:01that going off the cool deep
12:03saying it doesn't matter where the boundaries are we'll just keep clearing
12:10what a magnificent couple of few days it's been for namandir
12:14and here is bowling for india you hope he does well he's proposed a few upgrades
12:21but all of a sudden he's scratching the circle
12:27they want washington sundar to be to play the test matches so he's going to play ranjitro
12:31sprit boomer has pulled out he was sent to the asian game 20s
12:37his appeal that they will beat him just into the boundary for four a little too short
12:44who's been rutaford showing the value of timeouts in the middle he had that
12:53more evidence of turn
13:00closely six of the over a good one eighty two for three out of ten
13:07and see maybe a glove could have gone in of the edge will beat the fielder might
13:16have taken a little bit of pace off it but it's enough to go to the boundary
13:21mind the other as the ball would have been curving away from him as well
13:35the front line matters then
13:46unique selling port and like everyone else you've got to be able to play this shot as
13:53well because you just mess around with the field very good shot this has been one of
14:06the ground brilliant the some shots the moment ball hits bat you know there's no
14:15boundary in the world that's not that's long enough 50 of the partnership in 30
14:20balls and tactically shrewd from shifter a hundred comes up for the West Indies and
14:29this partnership is
14:34this fair amount of turn I said now and sometimes you see see it all when you do
14:39as much you could ever see
14:44just beats the keeper it's it's a it's a that is what the the white ball format
14:54what a way to bring up a 50
14:5952 of 36 he's in the form of his life j hope it's from the skipper
15:07another this time not far enough
15:11akshar patel is on the boundary this rollicking partnership has come to an end with a bit of
15:18very good cricketer roston cheers
15:26one of the key words coming out how can players make an impact
15:34it's a bit sharp that run for now
15:42cool deep first two of us went for 24
15:49wonderful partnership and india have done well to break it
15:56nice shot from roston chase very nice shot indeed it got better and better as it got closer to the
16:02boundary
16:08is that yes finger goes up another one down and the best possible way to strike back for cool deep
16:18yada
16:21yeah and immediately he just apologizes to
16:25please have sri asaya get a slip in please
16:35i think it's a very tempting hard hands i would say two men
16:45he needs to get on with it
16:48and also you need to pick cool deep yada
16:50with two people right in front of your eyes
16:57wow
17:00shepherd taking on the off spinner
17:03and hitting it very very well that would have been six no matter
17:07what the size of the boundary
17:12he hasn't hit it or has he
17:15he hasn't
17:16namandir
17:19threw it wide
17:21and this is his second wicket in t20
17:23by tilak
17:24so ramaria goes for seven four
17:30mid wicket mid wicket mid wicket
17:34oh my goodness me he surprised himself he surprised cool deep and this crowd here as well
17:41four gone for two
17:43passing up his mom
17:46single
17:47turn the strike over and then this becomes easy
17:53because the lone man standing right now is
17:55shafain ross here
17:56lost it in the lights stuck out one hand and it's stuck in there can't remember who the batter was
18:09someone
18:09between bravo and one or two others now
18:13if the skipper doesn't give it to you you ask for it you get it
18:17127 for seven
18:26very good though from koolipiada
18:28he must be given his flowers as when the first two of us went for 24
18:39game
18:41people might say it's just a couple of kilometers but that is enough to do you
18:46in the air huge difference in how the batter perceives
18:53enough on it from springer that has sprung off the face of the bat
19:02changed his angle this time around namandeer coming from around the wicket
19:06take a look at that bottom hat
19:11six and out again for the third time tonight one namandeer
19:17he can afford a smile
19:21here my question is 135 for it the ammunition with their batting down
19:28koolipi has finished aqsa has won one three five for eight
19:35mike yadav
19:38shafain rutherford just fall short wins them catches in the deep
19:48puts that in the gap for four
19:51so shafain rutherford will keep going the two fielders in the deep there's quite a bit of space between them
19:59now is the time for him to play some smart cricket as well
20:03he got
20:06and finds a little bit of room is getting getting a little predictable these slower deliveries
20:11from mayank yadav 10 of the over it's 145 for eight
20:27kilo scene very intelligent for all the westernese a lot
20:34there should be a field there but it'll go well well well in the distance
20:42so akil hussein we've seen him we've seen him play the big shots before
20:46as for a number 10 that's a very good shot
20:54actually saw this west indies lineup and i thought akil hussein in the back
20:58and out on the ground shafain rutherford
21:02superb timing bit of a cheese
21:08now i think you need to check whether the foot was touching the rope as he
21:16got even better that is a serious shot from akil hussein
21:22darren gunga said he wants to make his hundredth game special he's doing it with the bat so far
21:27and he knows his pedigree as a batter because he's got a first-class century to his name
21:35once again picked up very very easily
21:39there's a pattern emerging to these lower balls from mayank yadav
21:43and i think the batters are just sitting back waiting for it and they're seeing it very early
21:47the moment you see it at six and no boundaries
21:56taken
21:59he'll be kicking himself because he thought he'd spotted the gap there
22:04just dragged it towards
22:14akshar patel comes back and finishes the innings
22:19connected it well but over at mid
22:21yadova akshar getting two for 26
22:26westernies will feel that they're short with 171
22:30all out but it's a middling total you can see
22:33bowling the first over to someone west indies have gone safe gone to matthew
22:39there we go and samson has this way of triggering differently back
22:49boundary to get things going first ball drop beyond the boundary he didn't see ishan kishan earlier
22:58first six of the innings to abhishek
23:04six and four very easy for abhishek
23:12he's uh opted to go around the way at matthew
23:20and that is a wonderful shot to start things off against akil hussein
23:32he's trusted his ability
23:39he's not a stationary target abhishek shama he's ever moving depending on which side of the field the deep
23:46fielders are
23:52where the intent
23:55he hasn't hit it he hasn't hit it
23:58very good from heath maya so the change in angle has worked against abhishek shama
24:09dharma who gets dismissed for 21 india
24:16a wicket of sanju samson and his 100th t20 international for akil hussein he'll enjoy this
24:26and once again sanju samson
24:35but if you're ishan kishan you still find ways
24:40shortish man jumps on the back foot he's got room on the onside
24:44and he's uh proving to be india's crisis man
24:52and so the west indies will almost the norm
24:55look at in the ipo to sing in there getting the ball because of the complete bowler and that was
25:01boomerah so he comes in to lead the attack here that speed gun
25:11that's awesome everywhere now at most india
25:14score here is 172 just 130 140 score time he comes here how good a player he is very very
25:23little
25:24t20 cricket and striding and that incredible kept crickets for 50 overs and about kamil kura
25:30on the back of a very good caribbean martin patriots click with bubble so it's a late entrant
25:38jay hope from what we've seen so many players have averaged 30 striking at a strike rate of 30
25:45right it's now time for the asian paint textures ah let's play
25:57timing to perfection yet again just one shy of a half century now shreyas are here
26:06again playing it on the up knowing that the fielder is in the
26:13the bowler is upset but it's the other batter who's hit him for six treyas aya
26:21pristine timing 12 coming of it one one four two
26:31and he's now having fun that is the shot of a man who believes he can do anything
26:41we speak often about a lot of batters in this format of the game who are hesitant to use their
26:47feet down the
26:48ground playing with the field clears cover for four but made up his mind above the shot long earlier
27:02jay hope shreyas are just coming in
27:08brilliant sometimes you look at shots like those and say wow because he did it straight back
27:13and use the gap between long off and long on 19 of the archie luceno
27:20straight back fasted it and well over as straight as an arrow from shreyas are here
27:33the point you made about the run rate this year
27:38it is a fabulous and astounding return to his best form for india's captain shreyas are
27:49a first t20 international hundred
27:55this batting dominance
28:01and unconvincingly for the match to end it has been brilliance it has been dominance
28:11and it has been well led by shreyas
28:14you
28:14you
