Oktober gehen Gebäude in The Finals noch glaubhafter kaputt. Graduelle, stufenweise Zerstörung soll für noch mehr Dynamik sorgen, während neue Geröllhaufen, Rauch und Partikel-Effekte die Darstellung noch spektakulärer machen.

00:00Hi, I'm Rahman and I work on the Dynamism Tech on the Finals.
00:04Hi, I'm Tim. I'm a Senior Designer on the Finals.
00:08Destruction and Environment Dynamism are an integral part of the gameplay experience in the Finals.
00:12On October 20th, we released the biggest update to the Destruction System since its launch.
00:18We already had the desire to expand what we could do with Unscripted Destruction and the collapsing buildings
00:23and its ability to create new interesting gameplay spaces each time you play.
00:27The Destruction System is a physics simulation running on our servers.
00:32Currently, it has two layers. A building integrity layer called Strain
00:36and the general physics of rebuilding chunks falling apart.
00:40So a piece of a building is static and solid or fully detached and falling.
00:45For this update, we improved both these layers and added a new one in between of them.
00:50A Gradual Destruction System layer. The moment Strain breaks a piece of a building,
00:56Gradual Destruction kicks in and creates a loose attachment between the detached pieces.
01:02That attachment is dynamic. It lets pieces hinge, swing, twist and bend and form interconnected chains and nets.
01:11It keeps destruction from happening all at once and at the same time it opens up new dynamic play spaces
01:18inside a building that's hosting an Intensify.
01:21You will see ramped floors, twisted corridors, deformed rooms and sagging section of levels still trying to stay attached together.
01:30Suspended structures are driven by the new layer tool so they can swing around and eventually collapse into the building.
01:38Collapsed buildings are now much more alive as well with new visual effects and audio to really highlight their weak
01:43and destroyed nature.
01:45Ceilings now show crumbling dust, buildings creak and fallen debris will now create new dynamically formed piles.
01:51To give you more influence over how our arenas come apart, we are adding new blast waves to the explosions
01:58from various weapons.
02:00Now explosions push walls, bend ceilings and sometimes even launch pieces of a roof into the sky.
02:07That creates more environment dynamism as a direct result of your actions.
02:12We've also updated our gameplay smoke and poison gas systems to make them as dynamic as the environment they're used
02:17in.
02:18The smoke and gas clouds will adhere to the ever-changing environment and no longer will affect you through walls.
02:24On top of that, we added the ability for you to suppress parts of the clouds using explosions to give
02:30you that brief opportunity to outsmart your opponents.
02:34Our new dynamism and destruction systems are all about making the arenas feel more alive than ever and pushing the
02:39immersion of the game show even further.
02:41It's been a real labor of love from the team with a lot of work happening behind the scenes across
02:46multiple seasons and we cannot wait for you to experience it.
02:50Stay tuned for more and we'll see you in the arena.
02:53.
