Judo: Abe Siblings Strike Gold Again at the World Championships in Baku

Uta Abe claimed her sixth world title at -52kg, defeating Ariane Toro Soler to remain unbeaten at the World Championships. Hifumi Abe followed with his fifth world crown at -66kg, producing a spectacular ippon against David Garcia Torne in the final.

00:00The spotlight returns to Baku for day two of the World Judo Championships.
00:05His Excellency Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan,
00:10attended the official opening of the event,
00:13at which International Judo Federation President Mr. Marius Vizia
00:18and President of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation Rashad Nabiyev both spoke.
00:25The crowd then enjoyed a spectacular opening ceremony.
00:33With the two presidents watching, Ariane Toro-Solaire was aiming for the 52kg world title.
00:40Ranked fifth, she had been in excellent form, battling with determination.
00:49With the biggest prize within reach, she had one final challenge between her and gold.
