00:00Welcome back to Allure Cosmetics. Today I am sharing 10 small makeup tricks that can make your whole face look
00:07more polished, and you do not need to buy a single new product to try them.
00:12Every hack on this list uses things you probably already own. A lipstick, a bit of tape, the palms of
00:19your hands.
00:20Some of these are shortcuts the pros use backstage, and some are just clever little habits that save time in
00:27the morning.
00:27I will count them down one by one, show you exactly how each one works, and at the end we
00:34will do a quick recap so you can pick your favorites.
00:37If any of these surprises you, tell me in the comments.
00:41Let's get into hack number one.
00:43Hack number one. Your lipstick can double as a cream blush.
00:47This is one of my favorite tricks, because matching your lips and cheeks instantly makes the whole face look pulled
00:54together.
00:54Here is how it works. Pick a lipstick in a shade you love on your lips.
00:59Something rosy or coral usually photographs beautifully.
01:03Dot it lightly on the apples of your cheeks, just two or three small dots per side, and blend it
01:10out with your fingers in little circular motions.
01:13The warmth of your fingers melts the color into the skin, and you get this fresh monochrome glow.
01:19A word of caution. Start with less than you think you need, because lipstick is very pigmented, and you can
01:27always build it up.
01:28Blend toward your temples for a lifted effect.
01:32And if you want the most natural finish, smile while you apply, so the color sits right where your face
01:38naturally flushes.
01:40One product, two jobs, zero extra cost.
01:44Hack number two. The tape trick for a perfectly clean winged liner.
01:49If you've ever spent 20 minutes fixing one crooked wing, this one is for you.
01:55Take a small strip of ordinary tape.
01:59Stick it on the back of your hand once or twice to take off the stickiness.
02:03Then angle it from the outer corner of your eye up toward the end of your brow.
02:10Now draw your liner right along the tape's edge, filling in the wing with one confident stroke.
02:17Peel the tape away slowly, and you are left with a sharp, crisp line that looks professionally done.
02:24No cleanup, no cotton swabs, no starting over.
02:28You can use this for both eyes to get matching angles, and if you want a softer E, smudge the
02:36edge slightly with a brush after removing the tape.
02:39It takes about 30 seconds once you get the angle right.
02:43Hack number three. Turn your full coverage foundation into a sheer tint.
02:48On those no makeup days when you still want to even out your skin, you do not need a separate
02:53tinted moisturizer.
02:54Squeeze one drop of your regular moisturizer onto the back of your hand.
02:59Then add your usual foundation on top, roughly a one-to-one mix, and blend the two together with your
03:06finger.
03:07What you get is a light, breathable layer that lets your natural skin show through while softening unevenness.
03:14Apply it with your fingers and press it in rather than dragging.
03:18This hack may help your makeup look fresher on dry or tired mornings,
03:23and it is a lovely option for warmer days when a heavy base can feel too much.
03:29Remember, it is a trick for light days only.
03:32If you need full coverage for an event, skip the mix and use the foundation as intended.
03:38Hack number four. Tightlining.
03:40If you love the look of fuller lashes but hate the heavy line of eyeliner, this technique is your answer.
03:46Instead of drawing a visible line above your lashes, you gently fill the tiny gaps between your lash roots with
03:54a pencil or gel liner.
03:56Use a sharpened pencil or a thin angled brush and work it right into the base of the upper lashes,
04:03dotting between each one.
04:05The effect is subtle but powerful.
04:07Your lashes can look noticeably thicker and darker, and your eyes look more defined, with no obvious makeup line at
04:15all.
04:16It is especially flattering on days when you want that clean, natural look.
04:21Go slowly and keep the pencil close to the lash base rather than the waterline.
04:26A soft black or deep brown usually looks the most natural, and it pairs beautifully with just mascara.
04:34Hack number five. Fill your entire lip with lip liner before you apply lipstick.
04:40Most people use liner just to outline, but using it as a full base can be a game changer for
04:46wear time.
04:47Choose a liner that matches your lipstick shade, then color in the whole lip area, edge to edge, as if
04:55the liner with lipstick itself.
04:56This gives the lipstick something to grip onto, so the color may last much longer through talking, drinking, and eating.
05:05When the lipstick starts to fade later in the day, the liner underneath keeps your lips looking even and defined
05:12instead of patchy.
05:14Fill right up to the lip line.
05:16Soften the very edges with your finger so there is no harsh ring, and then apply your lipstick on top.
05:23Try it once before a long day out, and you may notice the difference immediately.
05:29Hack number six. Use setting spray between layers, not only at the end.
05:34Almost everyone finishes with a spritz and calls it done, but sandwiching it through your routine may help everything hold
05:41together longer.
05:43After you finish your base, foundation, and concealer, give your face a light mist and let it settle for a
05:49few seconds.
05:50Then continue with your eyes and blush, and finish with one more light mist.
05:55Think of it like glue between thin layers rather than one coat on top.
06:00The middle layer can help the base stay put, and the final layer blends the powders and creams into a
06:07seamless finish.
06:08Do not drench your face.
06:10Two to three light pumps from arm's length is plenty.
06:13If your makeup tends to fade by the afternoon, this layering trick is the one I would try first.
06:20Hack number seven.
06:22Warm your foundation between your palms before applying.
06:26Cold product can sit on the skin and look patchy, but a few seconds of body heat changes the texture.
06:33Pump your foundation onto the back of one hand or straight onto your palm.
06:38Press your palms together, and rub gently for three to five seconds.
06:43The warmth thins the formula slightly, which can give you a smoother, more even blend.
06:49Then press and roll it onto your face, starting from the center and working outward.
06:55You will often find you need less product because the warmed foundation spreads more easily.
07:01This works with fingers, a sponge, or a brush.
07:04On rushed mornings, it is one of the simplest ways to get that second skin finish without any new tools.
07:12Just a little patience and your own hands.
07:15Hack number eight.
07:16Use the back of your hand as your makeup palette.
07:19Makeup artists do this constantly, and it is free.
07:23Instead of squeezing foundation, concealer, or cream blush straight onto your face,
07:28dot it on the back of your hand first.
07:30The back of your hand is warm, which keeps the product workable,
07:34and picking it up bit by bit from there gives you far more control over the amount.
07:39It stops you from applying too much in one spot and having to blend away the excess.
07:45It also keeps things hygienic, because you're not double dipping a brush into a tube all over your face.
07:52After a few days, this becomes second nature.
07:54One tip, always apply from the outer edge of the hand inward,
07:59so the product on your fingers never touches the clean product further back.
08:04Hack number nine.
08:06Draw a tiny X with lip liner at your cupid's bow.
08:10This little trick can define the top of your lips in seconds
08:13and may reduce the color feathering into fine lines.
08:17Place the center of the X right at the peak of the cupid's bow.
08:21Then trace along it to outline each side of the upper lip.
08:25The X gives you two clear guide points, so both sides come out even,
08:30which is the hardest part of applying liner freehand.
08:33Then line and fill the rest of your lips as usual.
08:37Hack number ten.
08:39The Lipstick Sandwich.
08:40Apply one coat of lipstick,
08:43blot it once with a tissue to press the color in,
08:46then add a light second layer.
08:48The tissue step removes the excess oils while leaving the picket behind,
08:53which may help the color stay put for hours.
08:56So here's your recap.
08:58Lipstick as blush.
09:00The tape wing.
09:01The sheer foundation mix.
09:03Tight lining.
09:04The full lip liner base.
09:06Setting spray between layers.
09:09Warming your foundation.
09:11The hand palette.
09:12The cupid's bow X.
09:14And the sandwich method.
09:15Which hack are you trying first?
