00:00Star Wars Galactic Racer brings the carnage-filled arcade racing of the 2000s into the modern
00:04day. It's a stunning debut from Fuse Games, though it's hardly a surprise given that
00:09the studio was founded by five former Criterion Games developers, the studio behind the likes
00:13of Burnout and several Need for Speed games. That racing carnage DNA of the 2000s melts
00:18perfectly with a galaxy far, far away, and has been reinvented with a novel run-based
00:22structure for its single-player and multiplayer offerings.
00:25Galactic Racer serves up exhilarating risk-reward racing with a superb sense of speed and immersion.
00:31Its excellent run-based format sets a new standard for racing games. It features a very well-realised
00:36Star Wars setting and characters and has lots to do, including chaotic multiplayer modes.
00:41But it's not all perfect. The planet roster is disappointingly small and tracks blur together.
00:46Act 3's difficulty spike works against the run-based format and the game's abrupt ending
00:50leaves things a bit too open.
00:52Overall, Star Wars Galactic Racer has some serious sauce and might be a blueprint for others to follow.
