00:00We're here today to provide an update on our active search off Nantucket
00:04for the six individuals aboard a medical transport plane that was traveling from Bermuda to Boston.
00:22But before we give that update, I want you to know that my thoughts and those of every
00:28Coast Guard crew member are with the people on that aircraft, their families, their friends,
00:36and their loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. The Coast Guard's response
00:41to this incident started approximately 2 a.m. on Saturday when we were notified by the Federal
00:46Aviation Administration that they had lost contact with the Gulfstream G-100 aircraft,
00:53tail number CGRJP. That aircraft had six people on board, four Canadian nationals, and two citizens
01:01of Bermuda. During the search, Coast Guard crews were successfully able to locate a debris field
01:07that's been now determined to be associated with the missioning aircraft. Our search remains ongoing.
01:13Coast Guard crews, along with our partners from the New York National Guard, their air rescue wing,
01:20along with Massachusetts authorities, have searched approximately 2,840 square miles over about 53
01:26and a half hours. This is a large and demanding search area. Our crews are employing fixed-wing
01:32aircraft, helicopter, boats, and cutters to search the area and will continue to evaluate all available
01:39information as our operation progresses. As we do so, we've also been keeping next of kin notified of the
01:45progress of our search efforts. Our priority is to locate the six personnel on that aircraft.
01:52We're grateful for the professionalism and dedication of every Coast Guard member involved
01:57in this search along with our partner agencies. And I want to reiterate that our thoughts are with the
02:04are with the people on board the aircraft, their families, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.
02:09how far can it be etc.?
