00:00Whoever said less is more must not have been talking about puppies, because when it comes to those, more is
00:07always more.
00:09They're just so sweet. Why wouldn't you want to snuggle as many as possible?
00:13Recently, one Irish wolfhound was about to have her paws full with adorable pups.
00:18Obviously, she needed some help.
00:20So veterinarian Kurt DeKramer performed a C-section, and that was when he noticed something unusual in the mama dog's
00:28placenta.
00:28At first, he thought it was just one of the unborn puppies, but it turned out to be something much
00:34more shocking.
00:51When it comes to puppies, you can never have enough.
00:54In fact, the more the merrier seems to apply every time, which is exactly why it's so great that they
01:00usually come in large litters.
01:02After all, it's best to spread the love.
01:05So it was rather exciting when an Irish wolfhound was about to deliver a litter of seven puppies.
01:10Unfortunately, she was struggling to get them all out.
01:14That was when veterinarian Kurt DeKramer performed an emergency C-section to remove the remaining puppies.
01:20Except something unexpected happened.
01:23When he was operating, Kurt noticed some unusual movement in the dog's placenta.
01:28He initially believed it was a struggling puppy, but it turned out to be much more incredible.
01:34As it turned out, it was an unborn puppy in the placenta.
01:38But this wasn't just any puppy.
01:40It was actually a medical anomaly.
01:43Meet Cullen and Romulus, the world's first documented identical twin puppies.
01:48Aren't they cute?
01:51Since most puppies look alike when they're born, Kurt needed to perform a DNA test to be sure.
01:57Thankfully, the test confirmed his hypothesis.
02:00The only differences between these pups are a few small details.
02:05They have small differences in the white markings on their paws, chests, and tips of their tails, Kurt said in
02:11an interview.
02:12Outside of that, however, they're practically the exact same dog.
02:16How's that for twinning?
02:19This was good news for everyone because it meant that the world got to see double the cuteness on a
02:24regular basis.
02:26Just look at these two.
02:27They love to hang out together, as most twins do.
02:30And they're positively precious.
02:34While Kurt believed that there have likely been other identical twin puppies,
02:38Cullen and Romulus were the only ones ever to be officially documented.
02:41What an adorable way to mark the world's first ever official twin puppies.
02:47Whether or not these puppies were actually the first twins to be born, there was no denying how cute they
02:53were.
02:54Hopefully, more twins are born in the future.
02:56Remember, with all things puppies, more is better.
03:02Nevertheless, this mama must feel extremely proud.
03:06Not only did she give birth to a beautiful litter of puppies, but she made it into the record books
03:10as well.
03:11That, everyone would agree, is something worth celebrating.
03:27I think it's a beautiful thing.
