00:00.
00:30They're in great positions once again
00:33Combining personal with professional tonight
00:36Here we go, Sacramento-San Antonio
00:38Final game of the weekend in USL Championship
00:41And it is a huge fixture
00:42Early 90s into prominent Major League Soccer player
00:46And senior international with the U.S. national team
00:49Featuring 29 times
00:51He's gone on to a lengthy coaching career
00:54And finally the chance to lead his own program
00:56In San Antonio here these past few years
01:03Medense knocked off the ball
01:05One of the newcomers to Sacramento in this summer window
01:08Jagged run
01:09Memo Rodriguez trying to keep it alive
01:11Pops out to Gur
01:13Hits the end line
01:14Delivers the cross
01:15That Jennings waiting
01:16Comes out past Grisostemol
01:18They said that won't change
01:21But can we also be number one in possession?
01:25Beggars and choosers I suppose
01:28Oh, clever leave
01:29It's Memo Rodriguez out to Gurr
01:32Gurr offering the cross
01:35Backside header kisses off the post
01:37Jennings got a piece of that
01:39Too far
01:40Oh, Memo could have hit it right there
01:42He had the angle
01:42It's a bit far away
01:43Good patience
01:44And then Jack Gurr
01:45Man, has he been able to cultivate this left foot
01:49Primarily right side dominant
01:50Outside back
01:51Who always loves to get to the byline
01:54Quasho knows the scout
01:55Well done by Gurr
01:56And when we talk about
01:59You just got to work on your wrist strength
02:02When I hand you the camera
02:04Wrist strength is fine
02:07Nice touch there
02:08Kossos gave it off
02:09That got Kossos' arm
02:11But caught the sleeve
02:13Some pop high
02:15It's Medense
02:16Second effort
02:17Medense
02:18That got blocked
02:19Took this off the shot
02:21This is
02:21Really good look at the
02:23Options available
02:24And then the follow-up
02:26By Medense
02:27Talk about right foot
02:28Left foot
02:28Boom, boom
02:28Back to back
02:30Love the little step back through
02:32How's the touch
02:33To just be able to create the balance
02:35Hold that
02:54Medense
02:56Delivers the ball
02:57Header snapped above
02:59By diving memo Rodriguez
03:01That's a great look though
03:03Toast of the town
03:06Whistle blew well in advance
03:07Of that even getting into the penalty area
03:09I was just about to say that
03:10To cap the conversation about
03:14Playmaker Jorge Hernandez
03:16That's a product of the
03:17Number one team in the
03:18Western Conference
03:18Head coach Junior Gonzalez
03:20Who was in charge of Jorge
03:21During his time at Galaxy
03:22Junior's doing some nice things
03:24At the moment
03:25Eight in a row
03:26Eight straight wins
03:27For El Paso Locomotive
03:29That's tied for fifth best
03:31In league history
03:34Happened fast
03:35That El Paso
03:36Just powered up
03:37Past the rest of the west
03:38Huh
03:42Recall gives chase
03:43Vidiello away
03:44I mean
03:45El Paso had such bright moments
03:47In the earliest of goings
03:48Under Mark Lowry
03:49You could still argue
03:51This is the best run of form
03:53El Paso's ever been in
03:55A couple goals for Rubio Rubin
03:57Over the weekend
04:00This finds Jennings
04:02Swipes over to Medense
04:03On to his left
04:05Medense
04:06Kick save Petruni
04:08He got caught all out of sorts
04:10And dragged that foot behind
04:12A clever touch to the inside here
04:15Did that shock you?
04:18Not after last night
04:19Well
04:22There's halftime
04:24So it took a little while
04:25To get going
04:26But once we did launch
04:27Jennings in Sacramento
04:28Creating a handful of chances
04:30To run at any of those
04:32Defensive players in front of them
04:33They felt when he arrived
04:35Last year
04:36Yeah
04:37That he was the missing piece
04:38Eight changer
04:38Absolutely
04:39And he could be again now
04:40He came in with poor health
04:42By the time they got him up to speed
04:44Points they needed
04:45In the regular year or not
04:46Those couple extra midweeks
04:48Do their damage
04:50Ball pops into the width
04:54Medense
04:55Shimmys
04:56Fires
04:56Hits it off the woodwork
04:58Cracks backs
04:59Back across the face of goals
05:01Had the opportunity
05:02If he wanted to come square
05:04But as quick as the releases here
05:06By Medense
05:07I don't mind the idea
05:09And Mitchell Tainer's not wrong
05:10As he turns his body
05:12There
05:13Defender
05:14See if Maldonado
05:15Can even check something here
05:18Timmer
05:21Maldonado back in
05:22Settled
05:23Quasio
05:30Success not to be
05:32Medense just got back to his feet
05:34He may have left an entire cleat
05:36In the grass field there for a moment
05:39Put it all back together
05:42Good thievery
05:43Here's Maldonado returning
05:44It's a hair behind Memo Rodriguez
05:46But falls to him now
05:47Rodriguez
05:48Struck it off the post
05:51Possession
05:52Gets away with one
05:53Poor turnover centrally
05:54Good initial first touch
05:56From Memo Rodriguez
05:57And just pops out for him
05:59Nicely quality form
06:00Ended up with home field advantage
06:01In the 24 playoffs
06:03Pittsburgh
06:04Pittsburgh last season
06:05Absolutely outside of the final
06:082022
06:09San Antonio
06:102021
06:11Rowdies
06:12Outside of the final
06:13So
06:13You know
06:15Everything favors you
06:17Being in the friendly confines
06:18Of your own domain
06:25I think once you get to the
06:27Final anyone can win
06:28On a given day
06:29But if you're going to win
06:30Four games
06:31Which is what you have to do
06:32To win the final
06:33Doing all four on the road
06:34Is a pipe dream
06:35Probably going to tell
06:36The Eastern Conference that
06:37Since it's been quite some time
06:38Since they hoisted the trophy
06:42It's wild
06:43The dominance
06:44In regular season play
06:46Yeah
06:46We've seen
06:47Over the last half decade
06:48From the
06:50Eastern Conference
06:50And USL Championship
06:52Then you play
06:53Best against best
06:54In that one
06:55Do or die trophy game
06:57And this will fall
06:57Kindly
06:58Rodriguez
06:59Able to leak it
07:00Over to Gar
07:01A hand
07:02From Petruni
07:03Just enough
07:04Jennings
07:05Back into the box
07:07Last right
07:07At the San Antonio
07:08Keeper
07:1032 year old
07:11Center back
07:11From Storrs
07:12Connecticut
07:14Memo Rodriguez
07:17Header flicked along
07:18Pops out high
07:19Arturo Rodriguez
07:20Wanted a whack
07:22Nearly took out
07:23Wolf in the process
07:25Back across
07:26And that header
07:27Off the mark
07:27From Chris Ostomo
07:29It's not going to get
07:30Much more clear cut
07:31Than that down the stretch
07:32It's a really good ball in
07:34This is
07:35For him to go down
07:36And get it
07:36And the timing of it
07:37Because of the English
07:38On the ball
07:39See the way that it's
07:39Whipping away
07:40He's got to come over
07:41The back shoulder
07:42Of a very tall defender
07:43And Thiago
07:44So you got to get
07:45The speed right
07:45On the run
07:46And then
07:46To another try
07:47From afar
07:53That's it
07:55It's full time
07:56It is a scoreless draw
07:57San Antonio
07:58Escape with a point
