00:55The plague has claimed the lives of your fellow soldiers. Few have survived, but those who
01:01did have become transformed.
01:12In VALORMORTIS, combat is swift and violent. Careful stamina management is critical. William
01:19can combine a series of light and heavy attacks to break through his opponent's defences.
01:25In carefully timed parries and dodges, open up your enemies to lethal counterattacks.
01:31As you progress through the game, William will acquire new melee and ranged weapons that vastly
01:37expand your capabilities. Mastering combat in VALORMORTIS will require a skilled combination
01:43of styles, thoughtfully approaching each encounter with the proper toolset and leveraging the
01:48right weapons against enemies to exploit their weakness. The effects of the plague have also
01:54caused William to develop certain abilities called transmutations. These powers expand your
02:02arsenal even further. Envelop your enemies in waves of flame. Absorb and deflect attacks with
02:09the powerful shield. Or take the fight to the air with acrobatic grapples and warruns. How
02:16you fight and the weapons you wield is up to you and the playstar you seek to master.
02:26Death is inevitable, but it is not the end. Defeating enemies grants William catalysts. Catalysts
02:35can be used to enhance and augment your abilities. These augmentations can influence your playstyle
02:41and build significantly. Whether you decide to focus your evolution on hand-to-hand combat, firearms,
02:48or enhancing your transmutations, William can also discover build modifiers called Ambers. These
02:56aren't items that modestly enhance your stats. Ambers can totally alter your build's behaviour. For
03:02example, Butcher's Carnage takes away your ability to use Healing Flasks, but grants you a health bonus
03:08for every melee attack you land. Marksman's Bane allows William to parry bullets. While Dilated
03:17moment lowers your firearm damage, but slows time for more precise shots when aiming down sights.
03:24Furthermore, every weapon and power you acquire can be enhanced with materials scavenged throughout
03:30the game world. Whatever your weapons of choice are, their usefulness and lethality can continue
03:36to grow with you.
03:43The world of Valamortis is vast and intricate. William's journey will take him through war-torn
03:49villages, expansive battlefields, labyrinthine caves and catacombs, and towering laboratories
03:56and strongholds. Each location is rife with challenges. Deadly enemies. Puzzles that will test your reflexes,
04:05as well as your problem-solving prowess. And, of course, powerful bosses and mini-bosses that
04:15will require nothing less than exceptional skill to defeat. Points of interest are connected by a network of lanterns.
04:23Checkpoints and areas of respite William can use to regroup and spend collected catalysts. These lanterns also allow
04:31William to fast travel between locations. As your skill and abilities continue to grow, new pathways and secrets
04:40can be uncovered, rewarding the most devoted players with rare items and materials. Your Emperor expects nothing less
04:50than your absolute loyalty and devotion. But on the battlefield, questions remain. What is the source of the Crimson Plague?
