00:00All right, we're going to get to what's wrong with the Pittsburgh Steelers
00:04because, obviously, listen, I think Pittsburgh played well.
00:10I wouldn't say that they played bad.
00:11It's a product of Cleveland playing well, but Pittsburgh playing well,
00:16just Cleveland beat them.
00:17You can make the case there are some mistakes.
00:20I mean, Aaron Rodgers was 22 of 40.
00:22He almost had 300 yards.
00:23He had three touchdowns and two picks.
00:25Um, uh, Jim Warren had 17 for 93 DK Metcalf was five monster.
00:32Um, TJ Watt had a punch out, uh, on Deshaun Watson.
00:37Um, but Cleveland had five sacks.
00:39They got to Aaron Rodgers a lot early.
00:42Um, and Pittsburgh obviously tied the game on that massive drive and they got the two
00:46point conversion as well.
00:48So, um, John, like what do you think of Pittsburgh side of this?
00:52Like, is there a big problem here?
00:54Is this just who they are?
00:56Were you impressed?
00:57Were you disappointed?
00:58Like, where are you at with this Pittsburgh team?
00:59They're now two and two.
01:02I thought as well as Aaron Rodgers played, they're in trouble because that was a really
01:08good game from Aaron Rodgers, even though he got sacked multiple times and the warts of
01:13what they are with him at quarterback, it showed, but the positives also shined way more than
01:19the negatives tonight on offense.
01:22DK Metcalf had, like you were saying, DK Metcalf had,
01:24a huge night.
01:25Warren had a huge night.
01:27Aaron Rodgers had a huge night.
01:28From those three, if you get that every night, you should win.
01:32You get that every day.
01:34You should win.
01:35But that defense seems to just be long in a tooth.
01:40That defense seems old.
01:42You gave away Joey Porter Jr.
01:43Because for whatever reason, either he didn't want to play for you anymore or whatever caused
01:48that fracture for you to trade him to the Cowboys two days or the day before the game.
01:53It just felt like watching them tonight.
01:55And again, what the Browns are doing is a great story.
01:58But that's not a powerhouse situation.
02:00And to watch the way that defensively, they just didn't seem to slow down the Browns.
02:07And when it came time for what matters most, remember, all the Steelers' money is spent on the defensive side
02:14of the ball.
02:15They pay these guys to not have that last drive.
02:18They pay these guys to make sure you don't march down the field and knock a 50-yard field goal
02:24in.
02:24That's why they get paid.
02:26And they don't seem to have a grasp on their opponents.
02:29And I thought what we saw from the Steelers tonight worries me if I'm a Steeler fan.
02:34Because your offense played well enough for you to win.
02:38I know 24 points isn't as much as you would like with those numbers.
02:42But they played well enough for them to win.
02:44And they didn't because their defense could not slow down the Browns when they needed to.
02:48Do you think any of this is on Mike McCarthy?
02:51Or is this just a product of their roster just not being as good as some of the top-tier
02:56teams?
02:56Or any of the teams even shoot in their own division?
03:00You can't turn back the clock on this defense.
03:03You just can't.
03:04You know?
03:05T.J. Watts, great player.
03:06He's had a great career.
03:07He's not what he used to be.
03:08Can he still make a play?
03:10Absolutely.
03:10Cam Hayward looks old.
03:13He does.
03:14Like, their players that you got used to being household names, the guys they cut these really large checks to,
03:20they just got old on you.
03:22And that happens in football.
03:23You look up and guys are old.
03:25And they can't stop the young legs of the Cleveland Browns.
03:30And that's wild to say.
03:31But going forward, will the Steelers be able to get stops?
03:35I don't know the answer to that.
03:37Yeah, that's the thing.
03:39Also, John, they just traded Joey Porter Jr., too, to Dallas.
03:42So it's like, and he was actually pretty good for them.
03:44So.
03:46I mean, it makes, it really begs the question.
03:51In hiring Mike McCarthy, you didn't hire somebody who could fire the team up.
03:58You hired Mike McCarthy for an offensive performance.
04:02You got a very good offensive performance out of the, and that's the reason you bought him in.
04:07Yeah.
04:07But you gave up 27 points to the Cleveland Browns.
04:10Yeah, and that's the thing.
04:12And they also couldn't protect Aaron.
04:13I mean, I'm surprised all these numbers even happened with how much he was getting pressured.
04:18I mean, he looked like prime Aaron Rodgers getting out of the pocket and throwing across his body most of
04:23the time.
04:24So I think it's a big question of, can they're secondary?
04:28I mean, obviously, TJ Watt is really good.
04:31Their line is decent.
04:33But it's that secondary.
04:34It's that offensive line and protecting a 42-year-old Aaron Rodgers.
04:38And in this division, you have the Bengals.
04:41You have the Ravens.
04:43You have this Browns team that's not going to go away.
04:45I can guarantee you that.
04:47So you're going to see them again.
04:48It's not like the Browns are going to be great, but they're also not going to be so bad to
04:53where you can just mark it off on your schedule and be like, oh, yeah, we're going to beat the
04:56Browns in Pittsburgh.
04:58No, I don't think that's going to happen.
04:59I think Pittsburgh right now, you have to look around the AFC and be like, how do we stack up
05:04against some of these other teams in the AFC, too, right?
05:07I mean, you have to credit Pittsburgh for beating Cincinnati last week, even though two double moves, and that pretty
05:16much was the game.
05:17So, you know, and Cincinnati's never been known for their defense.
05:21So it just kind of feels like if you can put up a fight on the defensive end against the
05:26Steelers, you have a chance to beat them.
05:29Again, Aaron Rodgers played great, great, great.
05:32Warren played great.
05:34DK Metcalf gave you what DK Metcalf you thought should be giving you.
05:39Even Roman Wilson.
05:40Roman Wilson was good, too.
05:42We catch Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy again fighting on the hot mic.
05:46Mike, you know, you're reading the lips.
05:49Mike McCarthy's called him an a-hole.
05:51Aaron Rodgers is screaming at him to get to play in.
