„Das Meer“ (The Ocean) is, after the both nationally and
internationally lasting response to „Songs für einen Nachmittag“
(Songs for an Afternoon), the second Pop-Chanson
studio album of the songstress. Also the follow-up album
„Das Meer“ proves that German-language Pop-Chanson can
be effective without unsophisticated copied musical horizons
and thematic banality. Musically more open it is nevertheless
a smooth transition from the debut album. Driving drums
and demanding guitar riffs carry the tone and mood of the
album. Assertion, intimacy and melancholy flow into one another;
the album‘s 11 tracks authentically portraying the woman
of our times. Bittersweet lives on, thanks to the sensual
charm of Ewa Firsowicz.
