06:53countries.
06:54Absolutely, P. Naren Modi, you know, Piyush, when we are speaking, and as you very rightly mentioned,
07:03Mahatma Gandhi's ideas of non-violence is not just something that was restricted to our country itself.
07:11Of course, he is the one who led the country in its freedom struggle, in its freedom movement against the
07:19colonial powers,
07:21against the Britishers to end that very rule and for us to gain independence.
07:26But his ideas of non-violence, his ideas of unity, goes far beyond the reaches and the borders of just
07:35our country.
07:36In fact, viewers, October 2nd is not just celebrated in our country alone.
07:41The United Nations marks October 2nd as the International Day of Non-Violence to honour the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi.
07:48And that is how important and how far-reaching the impact has been of his principles of non-violence that
07:58he has practised all his life.
07:59And that is what he led by.
08:04He walked the talk with that very principle being a part of the freedom struggle that was led by him.
08:13And it's that very man, Bapu, the father of our nation, who we honour today, on October 2nd, on Gandhi
08:23Jainti,
08:24the Prime Minister being at the Rajkhat himself.
08:27And also, yes, today is another Prime Minister's, former Prime Minister's birth anniversary,
08:35Lal Bahadur Shastri, which is also celebrated.
08:39It's the 122nd birth anniversary of Shastri.
08:44And, in fact, every year we see the Prime Minister also visiting Vijay Ghat later in the day
08:50to be honouring Lal Bahadur Shastri as well.
08:55But the morning always begins with his visit, the Prime Minister's visit,
09:01to Rajkhat to pay his respects to Mahatma Gandhi.
09:25The rest of the day, viewers, will see several other celebrations, events marked in celebration of the day itself.
09:36In Delhi, we see cultural events that have been planned for the day.
09:41There are several events to, in fact, honour Mahatma Gandhi as well.
09:48Exhibitions that take place, drives that take place, cultural presentations that take place,
09:54with both civilian participants as well as student participants from different parts.
10:01Of course, in Delhi, we do see a Gurbani Sangeet programme that's, in fact, been planned for the day
10:11in the national capital itself, recreating a musical tradition linked to Gandhi's death, for that matter.
10:19In fact, the President, the Vice President, Prime Minister, are expected to be attending that very event as well.
10:26There is another cultural presentation at Red Fort later in the day, which will be, in fact, taking place over
