There’s a Planet Where It May Rain Glass — Sideways

HD 189733b is a hot-Jupiter exoplanet about 63 light-years away. Its deep-blue color is linked to a hazy atmosphere containing silicate particles, and NASA says it may rain glass sideways in winds reaching about 4,500 mph.

In this video:
- Why the planet looks deep blue
- How silicate clouds could produce glass-like rain
