Voyager 1 is the most distant human-made object, and it still carries the Golden Record — a time capsule containing sounds, music, images and greetings from Earth.
Voyager 1 crossed the heliopause in 2012 and entered interstellar space. NASA is still communicating with the spacecraft in 2026, although its declining power means instruments are gradually being shut down.
