00:00Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are speaking out after photographers were spotted outside
00:04their children's school in the UK, while the couple's move back across the pond continues
00:08to bring changes to their family and professional lives.
00:11The Duke and Duchess of Sussex slam the photographer's behavior as extraordinarily reckless, saying
00:17there is a world of difference between legitimate media activity and photographers walking the
00:22perimeter of a school, stopping to look into the grounds, and monitoring children as they
00:26go about their day.
00:27A spokesperson for the couple told Page Six that it is concerning that members of
00:31the European paparazzi appear unwilling to respect the privacy of children at school.
00:36The spokesperson added that the behavior was particularly troubling given that it happened
00:40so soon after the incident at Raff Fairford, calling it an extraordinary lack of judgment.
00:45The statement continued that whatever photographs the men may have been seeking, their actions
00:50were an unacceptable intrusion into the privacy of children and an irresponsible and ill-considered
00:55way to behave near a school.
00:57Page Six can confirm that two young men were spotted by private security and school staff
01:02walking the perimeter of Archie and Lilibet's school.
01:05The men reportedly stopped at various points and looked into the grounds before returning
01:09to a white van, which police established was a rental vehicle.
01:13The two men were identified as international photographers, working for a known European press agency.
01:18The incident comes after Harry and Meghan had already pulled their children from their first
01:22U.K. school just two days into the term because of security concerns.
01:27The couple had enrolled seven-year-old Prince Archie and five-year-old Princess Lilibet in a
01:31$35,000 a year prep school after moving back to the U.K. in August.
01:36According to reports, heavy traffic during school drop-off and pick-up was putting a strain on their small security
01:41team.
01:41A source told Hello! magazine that Harry and Meghan had security checks completed at the school before the term began,
01:47but they were unable to test the actual school run.
01:50The children reportedly loved the school, their classmates, and the other parents,
01:54but the couple ultimately decided to move them after discussions with their security team.
01:58Meghan also faced another security issue when her personal phone number was reportedly leaked
02:02after she joined a WhatsApp group for parents at the school.
02:06Following an interaction with two mothers in the group, the conversation containing Meghan's number
02:10was screenshotted and shared multiple times.
02:13Despite the rocky start, Harry recently said that his children are happy in school,
02:17adding that it's been great to be back on British soil.
02:19The couple's return to the U.K. also raises questions about what happens to their long-time home in California.
02:25Harry and Meghan currently have no plans to sell or rent out their $14.5 million Montecito mansion,
02:30according to a source who told Page Six that no one is moving in and that people are still maintaining
02:35the property.
02:36The 18,000-square-foot estate has nine bedrooms, 16 bathrooms, a tennis court, tea house,
02:43pool, children's cottage, rose gardens, and a two-bedroom guest residence.
02:48The gated property was a major selling point when the couple purchased it in 2020,
02:51and they have continued to hold onto it despite setting up their new family base in the Cotswolds.
02:56There had been speculation that the couple could sell or rent the California property after relocating,
03:01with another source pointing to roughly $600,000 in mortgage payments and taxes as a factor.
03:06For now, though, the Montecito home is staying in the family's hands,
03:09and while Harry and Meghan have been adjusting to life back in the U.K.,
03:13Meghan's professional world has also made headlines.
03:15Her former agent Ari Emanuel recently made a blunt comment about her career
03:19after confirming that he parted ways with her last year.
03:22When asked where he thinks Meghan's career is heading, Emanuel replied,
03:26Here's the great thing. I don't have to think about that anymore.
03:29Emanuel is the executive chairman of WME Group, which has represented major stars including
03:34Oprah Winfrey, Mark Wahlberg, Ben Affleck, Dwayne Johnson, and Kim Kardashian.
03:40Meghan signed with WME in April 2023, with sources saying at the time that the goal
03:45was to help make her a major player in Hollywood, particularly through producing projects,
03:50rather than simply returning to acting.
03:51Multiple sources told Page Six in February of 2025 that WME had dropped Meghan,
03:56although the agency denied that at the time, and said it continued to represent Meghan and Archwell.
04:02Despite Emanuel's latest comments, a WME spokesperson told Page Six this week that the agency still
04:08represents Meghan and Archwell.
04:09The couple has continued building their businesses and charitable ventures,
04:13while Harry also maintaining a lucrative speaking career.
04:16A branding expert told Page Six that Harry can command hundreds of thousands of dollars
04:20for keynote appearances and potentially close to one million dollars for elite exclusive events.
04:25The Sussex's return to the UK then has involved plenty of change, from finding a new school and
04:30navigating security concerns, to maintaining their California home and continuing their professional ventures.
04:36Harry and Meghan's big move back to the UK hasn't been easy. Here's what we reported last week.
04:42Parents at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's children's school have reportedly been warned
04:46about taking photos of students, amid heightened privacy concerns surrounding the family's return
04:52to the UK. According to The Mirror, parents and caregivers at the upscale prep school attended
04:56by Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet were allegedly given guidance about their conduct after Meghan's
05:02personal phone number was leaked through a parent's WhatsApp group. Parents whose children play sports at
05:08nearby schools have also reportedly been reminded of the importance of only taking photos of your own
05:12children. One parent called the warnings complete overkill, telling the outlet that everyone already
05:18knows the boundaries and questioning whether the notices were necessary. The parents added that they
05:23hoped it wasn't a sign of things to come, saying the school community is generally very down-to-earth
05:27and normal. Another parent claimed that on Archie and Lilibet's first day at the school,
05:32two 4x4 vehicles were seen rushing down a lane near the school,
05:36before Harry, Meghan, their children and their security team were spotted outside the entrance.
05:42The latest concerns come after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved back to the UK last month,
05:47leaving behind their children's former school in Santa Barbara, California.
05:51But Archie and Lilibet were pulled from their new prep school just two days into the term,
05:56after traffic reportedly created difficulties for the family's security team.
06:00A spokesperson for the couple said the decision was made after a discussion with their security team
06:04about the practicalities of their current arrangements, adding that the parents remained
06:09grateful to the teachers and staff. Harry later confirmed that the children are back in school,
06:13though he has not publicly identified where they are now enrolled.
06:17Privacy around their children has been a long-standing concern for the couple.
06:20Meghan previously told The Cut that she had reservations about sending her children to school in the UK,
06:25because of the possibility of photographers taking pictures during school drop-offs.
06:29Meanwhile, Harry has continued making public appearances since returning to Britain.
06:33At the Wellchild Awards, he spoke about some of the British things he and Meghan have been doing with their
06:38children.
06:39What's the most British thing you've done with the family since you've been back?
06:44I've gone for a walk. Lots of walks. Isn't that the most British thing? What else is the British thing?
06:49I already tried beans on toast.
06:51How did that go?
06:52That was in California. That was years ago. Actually, it didn't go down very well at all. I was quite
06:56surprised.
06:58But yes, okay. Marmite on crumpets.
07:01Please tell me that's a British thing, because it's always been in my life.
07:04And now the kids are eating Marmite on crumpets, which is a big moment for me.
07:10So they approve of Marmite?
07:11They do. They do approve of Marmite. They used to diss me for having Marmite in the house,
07:16and now they're in the UK. It's like that's kind of like water under the bridge.
07:19Meghan has also been spotted around the Cotswolds, where the couple has reportedly been house hunting,
07:24including an outing with Ellen DeGeneres at a pub near Burford, Oxfordshire.
07:28The Sussexes' return to the UK has also unfolded alongside renewed attention on the royal family.
07:34Harry and his brother, Prince William, were both recently asked about their uncle Charles
07:38Spencer's new memoir about their late mother, Princess Diana, but neither answered the questions.
07:44And William and his wife, Kate Middleton, made a public appearance on September 22 at the London
07:49premiere of Digger, where Kate wore a purple Jenny Backham gown and a rarely seen amethyst necklace
07:55that once belonged to the Queen Mother. For Harry and Meghan, however, the focus remains on balancing
08:00their return to the UK, with the privacy and security concerns surrounding their family.
08:05I'll see you soon.
