00:00Netflix bosses aren't the only ones distancing themselves from the Sussexes.
00:04A source tells Page Six that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Montecino neighbors are over it.
00:09Everyone is avoiding them, and no one wants to be seen with them.
00:12We're told the frosty chill has nothing to do with the recent spate of bad press that the couple's been
00:16getting after Markle's, as ever, was canceled from Netflix.
00:20Sources say that the frosty reception has been years in the making.
00:24The person that I talked to, a local source, tells me that it's been years in the making.
00:29Nobody hates them, but that there's just a growing awareness that they're takers with zero self-awareness and that everyone
00:35is just exhausted.
00:37A source close to the couple, however, tells me that they have a great relationship with their neighbors and the
00:42whole community.
00:43So the couple bought the $14.65 million mansion in 2020 after stepping away from royal duties and deciding they
00:49wanted privacy.
00:50Now, at the time, a rep for the couple told Vogue that they hoped that the neighbors would respect their
00:54privacy.
00:55The area is very ritzy. It's home to Oprah Winfrey, Katy Perry, Gwyneth Paltrow.
01:00Sharon Stone also lives there, and at the time, she told Access Hollywood that she was very excited to see
01:05them move in.
01:06Now, flash forward a couple years, and there was another neighbor who went on a German documentary called Harry the
01:13Lost Prince and said that they were not an asset to the community.
01:18He specifically said that Markle wasn't, that she was very standoffish.
01:21He said Harry could be a little bit more jovial, but that they didn't see the couple that often.
01:26It seems like the initial shine has certainly worn off for some of their neighbors.
