00:00Well, Giorgio Maloney in Italy scoring a major, major election victory, and this is an Italian
00:06government with Giorgio Maloney leading it, taking very firm action now. They're going
00:13to limit, as I've highlighted before, the number of foreign students in classrooms to
00:19no more than 30%. That's going to be done legally. And also bans on face coverings,
00:27the burqa, the niqab, etc. Italy now a country where about 11.5% of students have non-Italian
00:38citizenship. And, you know, Maloney is hung in there. Her party has remained the most popular
00:45in Italy. She's faced a challenge recently from a former Italian general who founded a party,
00:51Roberto Fanacci, whose party very quickly, National Future, has gained momentum. But there
00:59was a major electoral test in Calabria where you can see what happened here. The governing
01:06alliance, the Maloney-backed candidate, actually won easily in the end in what was seen to be
01:13a serious, serious challenge. So it was in the end a landslide victory. You can see here the
01:21Maloney candidate got over 50% of the vote. The left-wing candidate got about 35%. But you did see
01:28this new party not perform particularly well, this new challenger at two Maloney's alliance. Instead,
01:36what you saw in the end, the final result was over 50% of the vote for the Maloney-backed
01:42candidate,
01:44around 36% for the left-wing candidate. And then that new party led by that former Italian general
01:50on about 11%. So it's yet another win for Italy's governing alliance. Please do let me know your
01:57thoughts on that in the comments below. Please do whack this video a quick thumbs up. And of course,
02:01as ever, cheers for watching.
