00:01She was an officer who went to the Paddington Terrace where Jessie Baird lived a few days
00:07after the alleged murder to inspect what was then a crime scene.
00:12And she was taken through in great detail the sorts of things that she and her team
00:15found at the house.
00:18So, for example, she went through details about the bloodstains that she had found both
00:23in the kitchen and in the bedroom.
00:24There was blood in places like the floorboards, having seeped through the floorboards even
00:29into the subfloor.
00:31There were bullet damage to the walls in the kitchen and also in the bedroom, large amounts
00:37of blood or traces of blood.
00:39She showed pictures of a chemical called luminol, which is, you know, that sort of fluorescent
00:44glowing chemical that you sometimes see in a crime show, which reveals, you know, blood
00:49traces that aren't visible to the human eye.
00:51And what the court was shown included photographs of large sort of trails of this fluorescent
00:58glowing luminol through the lounge room, which is between the kitchen and the bedroom.
01:02And, of course, we've heard previously that the Crown alleges that Bo Lamar Condon shot
01:06Jessie Baird in the kitchen and then Luke Davies in the bedroom.
01:10And what this forensics officer told the court was that the trail suggested to her, it was
01:17her opinion that it suggested that the body of Jessie Baird had been dragged down through
01:23the lounger and down the hallway and into the bedroom.
01:26So some of those pieces, I guess, now are coming together in these photographs to explain
01:30the story that the Crown has been presenting to the jury.
01:33The other thing that was quite interesting was that this forensics officer also said that
01:36she returned to the crime scene in only July of this year after noticing a discrepancy
01:42between pictures of the door from when police had previously visited over an unrelated incident
01:49in 2023 and the ones that she had taken at the crime scene.
01:56And when she went back to examine the door, she found that there was what looked like an
02:01area that had been repaired or patched.
02:04And so police took the door only in July, backed for further forensic examination and found
02:09what appeared to be potentially a bullet hole.
02:13They took it then for other testing and shot a gun at close range through the door and it
02:17created the same sort of pattern and the same sort of damage, according to this forensics
02:20officer, as the gap in the door that had been repaired.
02:25So that goes to some of the Crown evidence where they allege that Luke Davies was shot through
02:32the door by Bo Lamar Condon on the day of these alleged murders.
02:36Yeah, and just pointing out, the defence story in relation to what happened is that Bo Lamar
02:42Condon agrees that he was in the house at the time, but there were struggles.
02:47Yeah, so his defence argument is that there were two separate struggles.
02:50One, when he surprised Jesse Baird in the kitchen and during that struggle, the gun went
02:55off twice, fatally wounding Mr Baird.
02:58And the defence then alleges that at some point during that struggle, the gun got flung across
03:03the floor into another room and that as Bo Lamar Condon then went to phone triple zero,
03:08he was confronted with Luke Davies, who now had the gun.
03:11And according to the defence, during a struggle between those two men, Luke Davies actually
03:17pulled the trigger and fatally shot himself.
03:20And there was also evidence today about belongings of the alleged victims being found in a bin in
03:26Cronulla.
03:26What can you tell us about that?
03:27Yeah, that's right.
03:28The court was read a statement from a groundskeeper at the Cronulla Bowls Club about the discovery
03:33that he made on the 20th of February.
03:36So just one day after these alleged murders took place, he said he and a colleague were
03:41at work that day.
03:42He went to look in the skip bin and notice that there were items in there that wouldn't
03:45usually be there.
03:46When the pair then went to have a look, according to this statement that he gave police, which
03:50was read in court today, they found items including plastic bags with clothing inside.
03:56And when he went to take a look, he said that there were red marks on them that he thought
04:00looked like dried blood.
04:01They also found things like identification cards of Luke Davies, a watch and other sort
04:08of personal and identification sort of belongings.
04:11He said that he and in this statement, he said that he and his colleague thought that it
04:15was suspicious.
04:16And so they contacted the local police at Cronulla, who then came to have a look and they established
04:22a crime scene.
