00:01Why no dig day? Why do I celebrate this? We've made it international no dig day. It's on Tuesday 3rd
00:06November and
00:08It's to celebrate something for me at least that I've been doing all my life 44 years of growing and
00:15Didn't really celebrate it much at the beginning. I also didn't quite know what I was doing
00:19It just felt the right way to grow and I found out more and more as time has gone on
00:24and seen more and more reason to celebrate it
00:26I've become
00:27increasingly aware of the incredible benefits of no dig, you know, like so easy to grow great vegetables like these
00:34celeriac and this fennel and the chicory at the far end and this rocket here salad rocket arugula, which we've
00:42been picking already quite a bit and
00:45These broccoli, I mean look at these broccoli and there's some cauliflower as well that in this very difficult summer
00:51that we've had with a lot of
00:53Pest pressure from flea beetles because the soil is so healthy. No dig is a wonderful way to
01:01Increase the health and vigor of your plants by increasing the health of your soul
01:05It's actually a no-brainer when you get to understand it a little bit and one beautiful result is you
01:12get many fewer weeds
01:14And that's what I've always noticed all my life and I was never too sure why it was and I
01:19didn't
01:20Because I've never been a digger. I didn't really appreciate the difference between no dig and dig, but I've seen
01:25it more and more
01:26Evidence that people show to me or send me online and
01:30Online actually is a great way to celebrate this day because you can share your results
01:35With people from all over the world. There's there's a worldwide audience for no dig
01:40Hashtag no dig day and you might be surprised who picks it up
01:44So have a go with your friends family have a nice meal or picnic in the garden
01:50She's been unlikely third November, but whatever you feel like doing it as a way of celebration and we are
01:56running two competitions
01:57On my from my website
02:00There's a no dig day tab and one is
02:02Best best photo caption so we're going to take a crazy photo of me doing something silly maybe and
