Over 3,000 lanterns light up Hong Kong's Victoria Park in global display

Thousands of visitors flocked to Hong Kong's Victoria Park on Monday (September 28) to see the World Lantern Boulevard, an exhibition featuring more than 3,000 lanterns from 20 countries. The lantern-lined walkway showcased designs, crafts and cultural traditions from around the world, attracting large crowds even after this year's Mid-Autumn Festival on September 25. The exhibition has drawn tens of thousands of visitors since opening earlier this month, with wait times reaching up to two hours during peak periods.

Among the displays are silk lanterns from South Korea's Jinju, traditionally used to wish family members health and well-being, multicolored patchwork lanterns from Brazil and Polish lanterns incorporating traditional folk paper-cutting techniques.

Originally scheduled to end on September 27, the exhibition has been extended to October 4 due to strong public demand, allowing more visitors to see one of Hong Kong's largest international lantern displays.
