00:04I'm here in Metz, northeastern France, where the Pope is delivering his Mass.
00:10As you can see behind me, there's a fan zone and many people have come out to this local square
00:14to watch it.
00:16French President Emmanuel Macron is also attending the Mass.
00:21He just made this decision last minute in what appears to be a break from France's secular tradition,
00:27which usually requires a strict separation between the church and the state.
00:33Earlier today, the Pope delivered a speech where he focused on the importance of European peace and unity,
00:39and he stressed the importance of international law and embracing multilateralism.
00:44I spoke to many people here on the streets of Metz who felt sad that this was the last day
00:48of the Pope's France trip.
00:50Many had taken days off work to come and watch the Mass or see him parade through the street with
00:55the Popemobile.
00:56In this moment, talking about peace, it made us feel heard and it gives us hope to continue.
01:09It was very emotional when we saw it come before us on the deambulation.
01:14I didn't even feel my heart. It was very emotional.
01:19The fact that we all gathered together via an osmose that was created, an atmosphere, it was very touching.
01:25Things are wrapping up. It's been certainly a very intense trip from the open-air Mass,
01:31which the Pope delivered to 800,000 people in Paris on Saturday from the Place de la Concorde,
01:36to Lourdes, where 200,000 people attended, and he also met with survivors of sexual abuse within the church.
01:43So things will be wrapping up here shortly, but it's safe to say that many of the images won't be
01:52going anywhere and they will be making it into the country's archives.
