00:00Could you play that Kyle Pitts clip for me, please?
00:02Oh, 23.
00:03Yeah, because the frustrating part about it, it ain't his damn fault he's not getting the ball.
00:07Okay, let's do it.
00:08Let's get to the big story of the day.
00:10Kick off the 1 o'clock hour.
00:11Yeah, I think we're always thinking about Kyle.
00:15We're thinking about Drake.
00:16We're thinking about Bajon.
00:18When the defense plays a certain way and allows the ball to go to a certain place,
00:23it's where it goes.
00:24And it doesn't change how we design the game plan.
00:28So you're trying to make sure Kyle's involved.
00:30And when he's there, we'll take it.
00:32When he's not, we'll move on.
00:33But Kyle's going to be a big part of this offense.
00:35I think you guys know that.
00:37Obviously, last night took on a different life, if you will,
00:40with some of the ways we were calling it.
00:43But Kyle's will be a huge part of what we do.
00:46Yeah, because it's all the fun fact Kyle Pitts has more tackles than receptions this year.
00:52It's like...
00:53Well, it wouldn't be week four of a Falcon season
00:55if we weren't wondering why Kyle Pitts wasn't getting the ball more.
00:58Yeah, man.
00:59Two catches, 20 yards.
01:00Yeah.
01:01That should be a quarter sometimes for him.
01:04Should be.
01:04Yeah, man.
01:05Should be.
01:06Now, first two games, kind of throw them away, right?
01:10Yeah.
01:10Pretty much a joke.
01:12Yep.
01:13Now, one of the things we hoped they were going to be able to figure out this year
01:16was getting ways to both have Drake London and Kyle Pitts have big games on the same day.
01:23Stefanski says we're always finding ways to get Bajon and Drake and Kyle the ball.
01:27We're not asking about those other guys.
01:29Nope.
01:29They had 194 yards each in the game.
01:32Yeah.
01:33They were six yards each away from the Falcons being the first team in NFL history
01:36to have a 200-yard rusher and a 200-yard receiver in the same game.
01:39Right.
01:39That's pretty damn incredible.
01:41Yeah, and I mean, at least...
01:42Kyle Pitts had one catch for five yards.
01:45And it was on a stick combo.
01:47That route combo is like, okay, we got to get this guy a catch,
01:50so we're going to run sticks.
01:51All right?
01:52We're going to run wide stick.
01:53Bam.
01:53There it is.
01:54I mean, you'd have to think that now that they have a real quarterback,
01:57they're going to be able to diversify the offense a little bit.
02:00But yeah, it's pretty crazy that we're three weeks into the season
02:02and Kyle Pitts has two catches.
02:04But I'm also not surprised because we've been doing this for six years now.
02:08Yeah, I think he's one of the most underutilized weapons in the NFL.
02:13Yeah, just imagine if he played in an offense that actually had, you know,
02:18a quarterback every single week.
02:19Kyle Pitts has played with his sixth year, right?
02:23Yeah.
02:24But he had opportunities, but he just...
02:29He's not...
02:29Like, he's open some plays.
02:31I think that's one thing about people.
02:33Well, no, Kyle's open.
02:34Oh, yeah.
02:34I mean, week one, he was going to score a touchdown.
02:36Yeah, Kyle's open.
02:37Cooper Rush can't throw.
02:38Yeah, it's just unfortunate that he hasn't been involved yet.
02:41But I know that...
02:42I can tell you...
02:42I can honestly say this.
02:44Time reason I'm working on ways to get him involved.
02:46Working on ways...
02:46Because a lot of times, you've got to...
02:49Especially when you're coming back from an injury like Michael,
02:51sometimes you've got to put Kyle as one option.
02:53You know what I'm saying?
02:53Call the play specifically to get Kyle the ball.
02:56Now, the defense doesn't allow it.
02:57I understand that.
02:58But sometimes you've got to go into a game specifically,
03:00I've got to get this guy the ball.
03:01Let's call this play right here.
03:03Yeah, no, for sure.
03:04And if we're like three or four weeks from right now,
03:06and it's kind of still the same thing,
03:08and Kyle Pitts has seven catches for 55 yards,
03:11and it's like, what the hell's going on here?
03:13Like, this is ridiculous.
03:14But to me, and I don't know if this is how anybody else feels about it
03:19or if this is me compartmentalizing or whatever,
03:22but to me, the Falcons have had two sections of the season.
03:26Definitely.
03:27There was the first two games where they were just trying to not
03:31embarrass themselves,
03:32and they did embarrass themselves in the second game.
03:34And then the third game where they actually had a quarterback
03:36and a game plan, and they were able to execute it.
03:38And, like, if in that game the offense still was awful
03:43and Kyle Pitts wasn't involved, that's one thing.
03:45But, like, they were feeding Dijon Robinson the ball,
03:48and he was doing whatever he wanted when he got it.
03:49And Drake London was open repeatedly,
03:52and he was doing whatever he wanted when he got it, too.
03:54But I'll say this, Andy, it was such a –
03:56like, Green Bay didn't make anything difficult for Mike.
03:59From the rush to the coverage.
04:01It was weird.
04:02I would have thought they would have brought more blitzes out of him.
04:04We were talking on Tuesday, I think.
04:05I was like, I wouldn't be surprised.
04:07If I'm Green Bay, I'm going to light his ass up.
04:08That's what I would have done.
04:09But they sat back, and they just let him just hit back foot,
04:12back foot, ball, back foot, ball, back foot, ball.
04:16And I know we've got plenty of time to get to the whole New Orleans part of this,
04:19you know, as far as how they're going to play them and everything like that.
04:22We understand the symbolic of what's going to happen there Monday night
04:25and everything like that.
04:26I always think it like this, though.
04:29Like, in today's age of athlete,
04:32and everything that happened in that game when it happened,
04:35do they care?
04:37The players?
04:38Yeah, because they probably weren't even born.
04:39I don't know.
04:39You'd have to tell me how that goes,
04:42because I'm sure you played in games that were, like,
04:45anniversary games or, like, whatever games.
04:46The fans do.
04:47Yeah, oh, it's going to be crazy, dude.
04:51But I was always –
04:52today's –
04:53you know, because now these guys don't even know who is anymore.
04:56Yeah.
04:56Well, I'm trying to think of, like, who's the –
04:58well, I mean, Cam Jordan's still there,
05:00but he wasn't on that team 20 years ago, obviously.
05:02No.
05:02He's been around for a really long time,
05:05so probably he does.
05:06But it's going to be –
05:07And maybe he can speak to the team and sort of explain –
05:09But they'll have all kind of stuff that whole week
05:13leading up to it and everything like that.
05:14And now Michael's going to go into a place where, you know,
05:17it's hot.
05:18Like, Green Bay's an awesome place.
05:19Ain't nothing going to be like New Orleans on Monday night,
05:21especially with the Falcons coming in town.
05:24It's going to be absolutely bonkers in that building.
05:27Just please, please, please don't let them block a punt.
05:31Because if they block a punt in this game, I mean,
05:34obviously everybody remembers the famous Steve Gleason block punt 20 years ago.
05:38If the Saints block a punt in this game, it's going to be a hard time winning.
05:42Dude, we were at Dave & Buster's watching this game,
05:44and that place freaking erupted.
05:48Oh, I bet.
05:49Yeah, I can only imagine if that happens.
05:52Okay, we've got a long week to get ready for all that.
05:54But, yeah, I just think that when you're on the road like this,
05:56you've got to use everything.
05:57Obviously, you're going to get a big dose of Bajon.
05:59And obviously, because he had all the touches in the Green Bay game,
06:02he's getting a lot of time off, a lot of rest.
06:03We won't be up there until Friday.
06:05And so we'll get a chance to talk to Kevin before that game.
06:08But, yeah, I mean, you've got to utilize everybody.
06:11And I know Mike's back, and he probably wanted to keep it simple.
06:13You know, just get him in a rhythm and let him go.
06:15It definitely felt that way.
06:16Yeah, because once he got in that rhythm, after the 1-5 start,
06:20you saw it just like.
06:21Yeah, 1-5 start, interception, next couple drives were all right.
06:25They started leaning on Bajon, which was really smart.
06:27And then I had a lot of respect for what Tommy Reese did,
06:31just allowing him those easy throws.
06:32Get him some quick ones out, get in a rhythm, feel.
06:36Because one thing about Pennix,
06:38and he actually didn't do this on Thursday night,
06:40he tends to play the way that he starts.
06:42Now, that's not the way that it went on Thursday night.
06:44He was able to, in the game, sort of get into a rhythm.
06:46But he's such a rhythm passer.
06:48And I think probably every quarterback is.
06:49They are.
06:50The older you get, you can start.
06:51You can, yeah.
06:52But, like, you know, you find a way to get him some of those layups.
06:56Like we talked about going into the year last year.
06:57Zach Robinson just didn't do that a lot last season.
07:01Tommy Reese was like, all right, he's a little bit rusty.
07:03A little rusty.
07:04Let's get us a few years.
07:05Because that interception, he just threw straight to him.
07:07Yeah, but I thought Dotson should have kept coming.
07:09But the one thing, Michael, if you're going to let it go,
07:11you've got to let it go early.
07:12You know, but then you're like pump fake,
07:13and then McKinney just ran his eyes and just jumped around.
07:16Yeah.
07:16But then after that, after the 4-for-10 start,
07:18he was 14 of 15 with a touchdown and looked comfortable
07:22zipping it all over the yard.
07:24You know, a couple extra days to get ready this week,
07:26and hopefully it looks even better.
07:28And, like, back to the original starting point of this conversation,
07:32hopefully Kyle Pitts is a little bit more featured.
07:35It's okay for him to be the number one option on a play.
07:38He's really good.
07:39You paid him a bunch of money.
07:40Yeah, yeah, yeah.
07:41So you want him to be here.
07:42This isn't one of those Kyle Pitts,
07:44because this isn't the first year it's been,
07:46all right, he's here.
07:47Like, you paid him.
07:48Every other year it's like,
07:49well, Kyle Pitts is not going to be a part of this team going forward.
07:52No, yes, he is.
07:52Yes, he is.
07:53Yes, he is.
07:53You just, you know,
07:54hopefully he has more than one catch for five yards.
07:56You gave him the money.
07:57You gave him the money.
07:58Throw it to him.
07:58You gave him the money.
07:59Might as well, might as well.
08:00But, yeah, it should be an exciting weekend of great ball,
08:03like you were saying.
08:04I mean, when you look at the Falcons,
08:06the schedule laid out so well for them as far as getting Michael rest
08:10and especially getting Bajon rest with a Thursday, Monday.
08:13Now, shortly that.
08:15Especially being able to, if winning the game Thursday.
08:17Yeah.
08:17It would be.
08:18It would be hell right now.
08:18It would be a really tough spot.
08:20It would be hell right now.
08:21If they would have played bad on Thursday.
08:22But, yeah, being able to win that,
08:24the way they did it, too, a nice convincing win.
08:27I told you, the Packers wore three shoes out of Lambeau.
08:31Two on the feet and one man.
08:33Yeah, exactly what happened.
08:35That is what happened.
08:36Thoroughly.
08:36I was watching that game, obviously,
08:39with all my relatives and stuff in Washington.
08:41And they were like, what is going on?
08:43I was like, I don't know, the Packers.
08:44I'm not sure.
08:46Because Bajon.
08:47Bajon's what's going on.
08:48I just keep giving it to them.
