00:23me tell you something this is the cheap diesel by the way I'm doing you guys a
00:27favor if you drive a diesel truck get over here and get your diesel fuel
00:31because this is the cheapest in town the rest of these places it's been 599
00:36Permian Basin people let me tell you how outrageous this is not only has our
00:41government not approved a new refinery to be built since 1977 that's almost 50
00:48years over in Iran the country that Trump wants to annihilate and bomb out of
00:54existence guess how much they're paying for gas they're paying about nine or
00:58ten cents a gallon yeah but Americans this is what you're getting fed you're
01:03getting screwed over by the government that we elect and pay our taxes to and it
01:09needs to end now and you are not mad enough but I tell you what I've talked
01:13to a lot of people out here and they are pissed let me tell you how pissed they are
01:18I talked to several people today that said they voted for Trump three times they
01:23voted Republican their entire life and they're actually going to vote for
01:26Democrats congratulations President Trump congratulations Republicans

02:05the number flashing at the pump is getting dangerously close to seven
02:09dollars a gallon the US national average for diesel has reached a record
02:15high of nearly six dollars 27 cents per gallon and in California some drivers
02:21are seeing something even more startling eight dollars 49 cents for a gallon of
02:27diesel this comes just days after the national average first crossed the six
02:32dollar mark showing just how quickly prices are moving according to AAA the
02:38national average reached six dollars 27 cents on September 15th a new record but
02:45the price shock is not stopping at the gas station diesel is the fuel that
02:50powers a huge part of America's transportation system trucks use it to move food
02:55supplies manufactured goods and other products across the country so when diesel
03:01gets more expensive the cost of moving those products can rise too and that is
03:06where the fuel crisis can turn into an inflation problem former Congresswoman
03:12Marjorie Taylor Breen is now putting the issue directly on President Donald Trump in a
03:17video filmed at a California gas station Green pointed to a diesel price of eight
03:23dollars 49 cents she then compared it with six dollars 59 cents in Georgia and
03:29called both prices ridiculous Green also argued that Americans eventually feel
03:35higher diesel prices through the cost of everyday goods she specifically linked
03:40at the surge to the war involving Iran and said this is Trump's fault her
03:46comments have added a political dimension to an already growing economic
03:50problem but what is actually driving diesel prices the current surge is being
03:56linked to a combination of factors the war involving Iran has disrupted major
04:01energy shipping routes while global supplies of refined diesel and gas oil have
04:06also come under pressure at the same time attacks affecting Russian refining
04:12infrastructure have tightened the international fuel market industry
04:16analysts say the diesel and gas oil markets are now extremely tight and there
04:22is another important point the $8 49 cent figure green showed was a
04:27California pump price not the national American average California's fuel market
04:33has its own taxes regulations and supply conditions which can make prices
04:38significantly higher than the national figure so while $8 49 cents is not what
04:44every American is paying the national record of nearly $6 27 cents is real and the bigger concern is what
04:52happens next if diesel stays at these
04:55levels trucking costs can remain elevated businesses can face higher
05:00transportation expenses and consumers could eventually see those costs reflected in
05:05the prices of goods for now the message from the pump is clear America's diesel crisis is no longer just
05:13an energy story
05:14it is becoming an economic story it is becoming an economic story and
