00:00There's a $5,000 bounty for killing a cop, $20,000 for an inspector, and $50,
00:05000 for a police chief.
00:06If the attacker gets killed during the mission, their family receives $20,000.
00:10Lured by the money, thousands of slum kids picked up weapons and hit the streets.
00:14They went on a killing spree day and night.
00:16Any cop who showed up got shot on sight.
00:18Within days, over 1,000 officers were dead,
00:20all because the police dared to cross the world's most dangerous drug lord, Pablo Escobar.
00:24To him, official rank meant nothing.
00:26Even government officials close to the president weren't safe.
00:28To expand his business into the U.S., Pablo bought an entire island and declared it a wildlife preserve.
00:34But it was actually a cocaine production base.
00:36He parked trucks on highways so planes could land, and cargo could be unloaded in broad daylight.
00:40In Colombia, a kilo of coke sold for $5,000, but once cut with fillers in the U.
00:45S., it went for $150,000.
00:48Gradually, Pablo controlled the American cocaine market.
00:50Later, he built a private army of 40,000 soldiers equipped with modern weapons.
00:54This force rivaled a national army.
00:56To win support from the poor, Pablo started donating houses, building schools, forming soccer teams, and crafting a good guy
01:02image.
01:03He even bribed his way into the Colombian Congress.
01:05But the first time he entered, a minister exposed his criminal background and presented evidence against him.
01:11Enraged, Pablo ordered the minister killed.
01:13He started torturing anyone who opposed him, and the entire country was drenched in blood.
01:17Cops, politicians, nobody felt safe.
01:19Finally, the president assembled a military task force and teamed up with the U.S. to go after Pablo.
01:24Anyone found supporting Pablo was shot on the spot.
01:27Their bodies were hung on roadsides to spread fear.
01:29Gradually, Pablo's weapons and assets were seized.
01:31His associates were killed.
01:32He went into hiding.
01:33But even then, he started planting bombs.
01:35Many died, and he became more of a terrorist than a mob boss.
01:38People lived in fear, never knowing where the next explosion would hit.
01:42Eventually, the government caved and agreed to a deal.
01:44Pablo agreed to surrender, but only if he could build his own prison.
01:47So he constructed a massive luxury prison complete with a helipad, soccer field, bar, nightclub, and more.
01:52All the staff were his people.
01:54It was less a prison and more a resort.
01:56Behind bars, he kept running his drug empire.
01:58But one day, two of his partners demanded more money.
02:00Pablo brutally dismembered them.
02:02When word got out, public outrage exploded.
02:04The government decided to transfer him to another prison.
02:06But when the army arrived, Pablo escaped.
02:08Now the government went all in.
02:10Rival gangs, the U.S. and Colombian forces joined forces.
02:13All his lawyers, accountants, and partners were killed.
02:15Even his own people started turning on him to save themselves.
02:18Pablo was now completely alone.
02:20The government captured his family.
02:21He was forced to call his wife.
02:23Through that call, the military tracked his location.
02:25They surrounded his hideout.
02:26Pablo saw his son one last time and chose to fight back.
02:29The moment he fired his first shot, the army opened fire.
02:32Pablo was killed.
02:32His reign of terror was finally over.
