00:00The winning pie today is a caramel apple pie, so it's a little bit different to your standard apple pie.
00:08Joe and I deliberated on the winning pie this year for about 40 minutes, trying to decide which one was
00:13which,
00:14because it was such a close call this year.
00:16This one specifically had such an amazing flavour.
00:19The crust was perfectly cooked.
00:22There was a beautiful lattice on top, well decorated.
00:25It's just a fantastic pie through and through.
00:27And we always encourage people to try and do a lattice.
00:30It's the hardest thing to do in a pie, and the effort really shines through.
00:34The crumble was an open category this year, so anyone could participate in the crumble competition.
00:40This one specifically is just absolutely fantastic.
00:43The flavour profile, the crumb on top, it's so well balanced.
00:48All the flavours work really well together.
00:51Nothing overpowers, so it is just something that you'd want to go back for seconds every single time.
00:56So, the junior category this year is just encouraging some kids to get in the kitchen.
01:01We really just want to encourage everyone to participate.
01:04So, anywhere between, I think our participants were between ages of 4 and 12 this year,
01:09to the junior categories, all of them came with a fantastic story about cooking in the kitchen with grandma or
01:16mum.
01:17And it really gives the kids a chance to just do something fun and exciting.
01:21Here we go.
01:41Oh
