00:00Billy, I'm going to start with you because this came up about a year ago with your grandfather.
00:05What was it like for you to be in that plane today?
00:08Yeah, well, it was so special to get the call from my grandfather.
00:11I wish that he could have joined the Duke up in the plane.
00:14Two years ago, we had the plan to do a jump to raise money,
00:17and he did a skydive at 100 years old to raise money for Sick Children's Hospital in Toronto.
00:23And then Duke came and visited around Remembrance Day last year.
00:28My grandfather showed the picture of his last jump, and you took such interest in it.
00:33And then so for a couple of months, my grandfather says,
00:35yeah, so we're going to do a jump with Prince Harry.
00:37It's going to be great.
00:38And we said, Grandpa, of course, of course it's going to happen.
00:40And lo and behold, your team reached out, and we're just so happy that you did.
00:45And thank you.
00:46It's such a great honor to my grandfather and the work you do for veterans.
00:50So I'm so happy to be a part of it.
00:53My fault for taking an interest in the photograph.
00:55Yeah, that's what led us to this point.
00:58Were you surprised that he actually kept to his word and delivered?
01:03Yeah, I mean, not knowing, just you would never assume that somebody would,
01:09I mean, your schedule would do something, I mean, to put yourself on the line, for one,
01:16and just to take the time to take interest in what he's done and his service and your service.
01:22It's just, I mean, it's been pretty surreal for our family.
01:25But just as my grandfather said, I mean, he's just a normal guy.
01:29And that's really the feeling that we get.
01:31It's been really, really excited about this.
01:34There's no version of where you can, not in the business of letting people down,
01:37but you cannot let a 102-year-old veteran down.
01:41I think that's, you know, there was the medical evaluation that he had,
01:45and he was devastated that he couldn't jump, but it was great to have him in the back.
01:48They did put a parachute on him.
01:50We did think that he was probably going to jump by himself.
01:52Glad he didn't.
01:53He's still here, and he's going to be 103 in, well, two months' time, three months' time.
01:58We noticed you called your wife, the Duchess, immediately afterwards.
02:02How difficult was it to convince her for you to do this as a dad of two?
02:05I didn't have to convince her, but she was very relieved once we were down.
02:08I think it took quite a while to get up, so I think she was like,
02:12are they down yet, are they down yet?
02:13But I've just been blaming Ed anyway, so it's fine.
02:16I said, I can't, I don't want to do it.
02:18Actually, I wish I could get out of it, but Ed is very persuasive.
02:22You've been dedicating your life to veterans and their causes for so long.
02:27The Invictus Games, which you founded, are going to be in Birmingham next, next year,
02:31which is a home you've moved back to.
02:34What's that transition been like, moving back?
02:36It's been great.
02:37It's been great to be back on British soil.
02:38It's great to be on Terra Firma, actually.
02:41No, it's great.
02:42The kids are happy in school, and it gives me a chance to be really focused on Invictus
02:47and the Birmingham Games July next year.
02:49But most importantly, right now, we need to raise, we need to continue to raise funds
02:53for Sunnybrook and True Patriot Love.
02:57That's the, that's the goal.
