🎼 Before microphones, streaming, and modern recording studios, one extraordinary tenor was captivating audiences around the world: ENRICO CARUSO. Born in Naples, Italy, in 1873, Caruso rose from modest beginnings to become one of the most celebrated opera singers of the early twentieth century.

Caruso possessed a voice remembered for its warmth, richness, vitality, and dramatic power. His international career took him to major opera houses, and in 1903 he made his Metropolitan Opera debut in New York in Rigoletto. He would become one of the Metropolitan Opera's defining stars, performing hundreds of times and taking on dozens of roles.

But Caruso didn't conquer only the opera stage. He also embraced the relatively new technology of recorded sound. His recordings helped bring opera into people's homes and played an enormous role in turning him into an international celebrity. At a time when recorded music was still developing, Caruso demonstrated just how powerful the combination of a great voice and new technology could become.

From Naples to the Metropolitan Opera and from the opera house to the gramophone, Enrico Caruso left a musical legacy that has survived for more than a century. 🎀🎢 What do YOU think made Caruso's voice so unforgettable?
