Chinese electric heavy-duty trucks have officially landed in Europe! Revealed at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hannover, Germany, the BYD ETT 44 is a purpose-built 4x2 battery-electric tractor unit designed for regional and long-haul transport.
Equipped with a 651 kWh Blade Battery and a twin-motor powertrain delivering up to 750 kW (1,000 hp) peak output, the ETT 44 boasts a rated range of up to 600 km. Thanks to 1.5 MW Megawatt Charging System (MCS) compatibility, it recharges from 20% to 80% in approximately 20 minutes—recovering up to 400 km of driving range during mandatory driver rest breaks.
Backed by a standard 10-year / 1.2M km battery warranty and a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating, BYD is delivering a full zero-emission commercial ecosystem to Europe.
