00:00I want to start by saying that I am about to be real partisan in this moment. I just am.
00:07Because I remember when there was a party that described themselves as the party of law and
00:11order, and it seems like all we're getting is lawlessness and obstruction. I think that,
00:17Mr. Murphy, you have laid it out just now that you're not getting anything but obstruction
00:22and stonewalling. And I must say, because I am a lawyer, so I want to minimize some of the
00:29conversations that I have with some of you. But Ms. Carlson, as a witness to Mr. Preddy's death,
00:36has any federal agency like the DOJ or FBI reached out to you?
00:40We had a meeting with DHS, FBI, and some various forms of government on March 26th.
00:47And has anything come of that?
00:49No.
00:49Okay. So let's talk about this. Because we know that Mr. Preddy was killed on or about January 24th,
00:572026. Yet it doesn't seem as if anyone has been arrested for his killing. But juxtapose that with
01:03the fact that on June 19th, 2026, there was an Olympian by the name of David Hearn that was arrested
01:11for an issue with the reflecting pool. It tells me that the priorities have nothing to do with human
01:20life as it relates to this administration. In fact, this administration is engaged in division
01:25and distractions. And that takes me back to something that was said a little earlier by
01:31Mr. Ganger. You said white people like me. Do you remember your opening statement where you said
01:39something about that?
01:40Yes.
01:40Okay. To give context to that, for those of you that don't know, my dad is a preacher.
01:45And when I go out and campaign sometimes, I usually don't pull from a Bible verse. I actually pull
01:52from usually a gospel song. And there is a song that goes, I need you to survive. And that song
01:59says,
02:00I need you. You need me. We're all a part of God's body. Stand with me. Agree with me. We're
02:07all a part
02:07of God's body. The reason that I bring this up is because unfortunately, at some point in time,
02:14we have gotten divided. And I sit here as a black woman in America that understands
02:20the terrible history that this country has had specifically with policing black folk in the past
02:26and in the present. I see the corollary between what is happening today, whether we are talking
02:32about people with accents, whether we're talking about people with less melanin than me, whether we
02:36are talking about people that simply are trying to survive. And so again, with me being very partisan
02:42in this moment, I just want to be clear that there is only one party that isn't just talking about
02:49this
02:50because sadly enough, when we look around this room, only one party showed up today. This has become
02:55a partisan issue when it should not be. And I am here to tell you that enough with the nonsense

03:01Democrats are demons and devils and not Christians and Democrats don't believe
03:06in lawfulness because we do. But the difference is I believe in accountability for everybody.
03:12I don't care if you wear a uniform. The reality is that there are people that may or may not
03:19come
03:20across this and will say that I don't do politics, but I want to be clear, politics will do you.
03:24The last thing that I will say, because we do have these brave souls that are sitting here and
03:29sadly enough, they are telling their stories, but I want to be clear. I don't want y'all to think
03:33that
03:33these are one-offs. If you have been impacted by ICE in a detrimental way and you are in this
03:39room
03:39right now, I want you to stand. The reality is that there are so many more stories.
03:52There are so many more names that you will never hear. It is important. We only have 42 days.
04:02I don't want y'all to get distracted. I am not saying compromise who you are,
04:09but I am saying that if you care about your neighbors or if you just want to be selfish and
04:14you care about yourself, it is time to vote them out. And I will yield.
