11:33then you've got a chance to get yourself some good points on the board
11:39and that's definitely another thing that will be on the minds of the drivers
11:43however 5 out of 8 times the feature race has been won from pole position
11:49we can see the drivers preparing for the next qualifying session

11:56we've seen a lot of drivers getting sideways coming through 18 and 19
12:01what do you think the main challenge is for them there
12:03it's a very quick corner isn't it
12:05we see our drivers often in proximity to others
12:08trying to take the speed through there
12:09trying desperately not to lift
12:12because if you lift your lap is finished
12:13you're not taking the speed
12:14on to the start finish straight
12:16but it is so dusty and dirty
12:19out on the racetrack through there
12:21the management of the car is huge in Formula 2
12:24they don't have the downforce of Formula 1 machinery
12:27and therefore as they throw the car from right to left
12:31a huge challenge at high speed
12:33you don't want to carry the downforce either
12:35because all of the downforce you carry of course hurts you down the straight
12:39that immediately follows
12:39and that's why they're on these lower downforce rear wings this weekend
12:42got to say I love that section of the circuit
12:46Baku provides so many different challenges for the drivers
12:50they've got the slow speed section
12:53where they're so close to the barriers
12:55and then we've got that high speed section as well
12:58it offers all sorts

13:03Gabriele Mini will be hoping for a much better session

13:13as we are green just going through their first warm-up lap
13:18eagle-eyed amongst you would have seen Gabriele Mini slipped out into the pit lane
13:21in a slightly hairy manner that's been picked up as a unsafe release
13:26not a huge amount tends to happen about those
13:28throughout free practice and qualifying
13:32Yamakoshi on the pace as well
13:35doing a great first session
13:36let's hear what he had to say about his F3 season
13:38coming into the weekend
13:41I mean the first and last was not the way we want to
13:46but obviously what I did was I achieved
13:48the pole position from the first one from the Japanese
13:51also got podium twice in the future race
13:54and then kind of win Monaco
13:55and then I've got podium Monaco was a pretty good moment
13:59I of course I always remember it
14:01and yeah for me we missed the P3 in the championship
14:05we missed the P3 in the driver championship
14:07but yeah for me all the results
14:10what I had was what I didn't expect for the for the rookie season
14:13so I'm pretty happy with my performance
14:16I'm so I'm I think I'm ready to drive formula 2
14:18obviously this is my first really first time driving the F2 power ratio car
14:23so I don't know what's gonna happen but we'll see
14:26great character
14:27he Yamagashi three podiums in formula 3 took a historic pole position as well
14:33back at the Red Bull ring
14:35a great character has a great relationship with the Van Ammer Sport team
14:38good to have him stepping up into formula 2 this weekend
14:43at a circuit where we often see drivers trying their hands

15:02we'll see what those races bring the driver who's had a stellar time throughout formula 3 got some results

15:09taking the opportunity
15:11to sample formula 2 machinery
15:13references the power to weight ratio
15:16which is so different of course
15:17from junior single-seaters changes the driving style changes everything about it
15:22and that is quite the adventure
15:24especially around here which is one of the most extreme circuits

15:29what a place to make the debut

15:36because he'll already have hot brakes of course
15:37which will warm the tyres more quickly from the previous session

16:04a bit of a cushion up against the walls through the middle sector for Fittipaldi

16:15sometimes we see drivers put in what looks like pretty close to a flying lap
16:20but actually they're still in build mode

16:27in any case he's going to bring his AIX down through the motorway section down to the front straight
16:35Fittipaldi by the 17th in the championship does a 56-9
16:40and that kicks us off we saw a 55-3 from Dunne in the first session
16:47so 56.9 we'll expect the times to come down as the rest of the field are now going to
16:52get ready for their first flying lap
16:55this is where we saw Gabrielli Mini go wide on his last one in that last session
16:59will be hoping for a better run now behind his MP Motorsport teammate Oli Goethe as he heads through turn

17:07the first session has not gone as he needs it to
17:10he really needs to put this car in the top 10 or better now
17:14to be in the hunt here to get in the mix for the championship points
17:19needs the biggest swing of the top 3 and so needs to be starting out front of Camara and Solov
17:25if he can
17:25yeah and as you mentioned it's just been qualifying which has been difficult for him the last two rounds
17:30he's been out of the top 10 his best ever qualifying result came here with a third place last year
17:36this is looking good so far though nice tidy first half of the lap
17:40he's pretty early in the running so he's beaten Oli Goethe through the first sector and also Hertha
17:46but a lot of cars still to come behind him
17:48nips the car in nicely there and gets good traction through the exit at turn 7 points at the wall

17:55and positions the car as aggressively as possible in 10
17:58they can't quite get up to that left hand wall to open 11
18:02because the damping just won't let them do it but still rolls decent speed through
18:06that's where he had the huge moment you can see the car critical again
18:10with the rear end for Gabriele Mini
18:12conservative on the brakes into turn 15 because it's all about the exit
18:16and then the super high speed run after 16 to the line

18:22got to be careful with that curve on the exit
