00:00Yes, it is the Mercedes Mechanics who will have to clear this up.
00:03Better it doesn't happen in FP2,
00:05because that's when they need to understand the tyres with the long runs.
00:08But, well, we saw Toto Wolff throwing his headset at the screen
00:13in frustration at the last race.
00:14I wonder what he's doing watching from home,
00:17because, of course, he is not at this Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
00:20It's Deputy Team Principal Bradley Lord,
00:23who is in the Toto command post for Mercedes this weekend.
00:27He's lobbed a croissant to the other side of the kitchen in fury.
00:32Or something like that, anyway.
00:33Yes, Bradley Lord, Deputy Team Principal, deputising.
00:37Yeah, I think in terms of Kimi's session,
00:40as we know, FP1 is probably the least representative session,
00:43so that's a blessing.
00:44I think the bigger concern there is why he's had the issue.
00:48We knew reliability was a big talking point for Mercedes earlier on in the season.
00:52Seems to have been in a much better place the last few races especially,
00:55but that's obviously going to be the biggest concern,
00:58as we see his teammate now go out on a soft tyre.
01:00So take us through the rest of this lap, Karun.
01:02It looked very dusty on the approach to turn three.
01:06Yeah, he's on a brand new set of soft tyres,
01:08and the dust just builds up up against the wall,
01:10so you'll often see the drivers, particularly in the braking zones,
01:13not going right up to the wall.
01:15Oh!
01:17Well bailed out, sir.
01:18That was so close!
01:21Oh my goodness, he bailed.
01:24I don't think he could have been a tenth of a second later with that decision.
01:28Well done, George Russell.
01:29Now, does he choose reverse?
01:31Oh, I see, that's a shame.
01:32Max has gone off as well.
01:34Yeah, turn one for Max.
01:36I'd like to see what George is doing there,
01:38because Max is clearly back on track.
01:40Does Russell reverse, or does he spin it round?
01:43I think he might be reversing it, as far as I know.
01:49That might be the easiest thing to do.
01:50You can reverse straight back out onto the track again.
01:54Here we go.
01:55Let's have a look on board as we were riding at the time.
02:00He went...
02:02He'll go further over in qualifying,
02:04but he just knew he wasn't going to make the corner.
02:06Yeah.
02:07Absolutely right decision to bail out of that boat,
02:10otherwise he would have been hard in that wall
02:12on the outside there.
02:14And that just looks so normal from the off-board,
02:16but on board you could see how tight that was.
02:19What about Max?
02:20Big lock-up, and he was on the soft tyre as well.
02:23He would have flat-spotted that tyre.
02:25It's quite a high-speed lock-up there,
02:27and you can see the patch, actually, can't you?
02:29Yeah.
02:29On the front left, there's...
02:32Oof!
02:33That looked more dramatic off-board, didn't it?
02:35Yeah.
02:35He locked both fronts, actually, didn't he?
02:37So that will definitely rattle his fillings.
02:40So, Kimi Antonelli with a hydraulic issue stopping,
02:45and that's the end of his session.
02:46George Russell on the soft tyre,
02:48almost going into the barriers.
02:50Max Verstappen on the soft tyre,
02:51big lock-up into Turn 1.
02:53And about five minutes before all of that happened,
02:57stand by, Ferrari fans,
02:59Karun Chandok said,
03:01I am cautiously optimistic for Ferrari for this weekend.
03:05Did he know what was coming on the track in FP1,
03:08or is there another reason?
03:10Optimism corner now with Karun Chandok.
03:12I just feel like they under-delivered in Monza.
03:19I think they just didn't put the weekend together.
03:22Right.
03:23Yeah, I just think they started the weekend.
03:26It's a bomb statement, that is.
03:26Yeah, they started the weekend strongly on Friday,
03:31and then just got the run plan completely wrong in qualifying,
03:35left Lewis out without a toe.
03:37And I think the car, if we look at earlier this season
03:40or throughout the season,
03:41when we've got slow, sharp, sort of short, sharp corners,
03:45like we have here.
03:48Oscar, we need to box this lap to check in the pit box.
03:51We need to box this lap to do a check in the pit box, I'm afraid.
03:54And he's in right now.
03:56Yeah.
03:57The Ferrari's been very strong in, you know, short, slower corners.
04:01And I think since, you know, as the season's unfolded,
04:05they've added more aerative performance.
04:06And this is a track that's full of 90-degree corners.
04:10There aren't any high-speed long corners,
04:12which suit the McLaren in particular,
04:14or did before the upgrade, we'll see now.
04:17So, yeah, I just think we don't know with the power unit.
04:20We think that maybe they are still behind Mercedes
04:23if Max goes deep into turn five.
04:25But I wouldn't discount Ferrari.
04:27We need to see what happens with Leclerc.
04:29He is a specialist around here.
04:31Five poles, including one in the sprint, four for the Grand Prix.
04:34So he is absolutely a specialist around the circuit.
04:37In qualifying.
04:38In qualifying, but no victories, as you say.
04:41So, in terms of pace, maybe I'll quantify it.
04:44In terms of pace and qualifying, I'm optimistic for Ferrari.
04:47You've said it now.
04:48Let's see what they do there.
04:49If Ferrari win this weekend, you heard it here first.
04:53If they don't, I'm very sorry.
04:55I said something similar last year
04:57and gave the same talk about Charles' chances here at a track.
05:03He knows the way so good here.
05:05And we know how that ended.
05:06So I'm not going to say too much about Ferrari,
05:08particularly Charles Leclerc's chances at this track.
05:11We have Gabriel Bortoletto, the latest, to cause a yellow flag.
05:15He's currently reversing around turn 10
05:18and getting back out onto the track.
05:21There is a race control test going on, whatever that means.
05:26And, Ted, you've got some Oscar Piastri news for us.
05:29So they were having a look.
05:30The reason they brought him in to check,
05:33what they wanted to check was the radiator inlets.
05:35So maybe they'd seen on his outlap
05:38that the temperatures were going up
05:40on various critical systems
05:42and wanted to check there wasn't any debris
05:45in the radiator inlets.
05:47And there was not.
05:49And they've sent him out again.
05:51So, hopefully, that's a new side pod, of course,
05:55for this weekend.
05:56So hopefully it's cooling the cars efficiently.
05:58Lando Norris still in the garage.
06:01Have you noticed on the track,
06:02I know it's very dusty out there,
06:04we're not quite into the autumnal period yet,
06:07it certainly doesn't feel like it.
06:08There's a lot of leaves on the track.
06:11Sort of things that could go into a side pod.
06:13I remember this being a factor last year as well.
06:15And last year, when it was a bit damp
06:17and there was moisture on the track as well,
06:20big cause for concern was that foliage,
06:23as you would describe it.
06:24Foliage, great work.
06:26And then, obviously, when the wind picks up,
06:27you notice it even more.
06:29So, for sure, that can be a factor.
06:31And potentially what they've seen
06:33on Lando Norris' car there.
06:34There's actually something else
06:35that seems to be in the middle of the track,
06:37some sort of piece of vinyl or something.
06:41That was odd, wasn't it?
06:43I'm surprised it's not been cleared away
06:47or a VSC to clear that sort of stuff away, normally.
06:49But we'll see if...
06:52We have got a yellow,
06:53so maybe they have now spotted it.
06:54I'm listening to you, Jamie Chadwick.
06:56You're welcome.
06:57Oh, no, it's yellow flag at Turn 1.
07:00Oscar Piastri was just coming out of the pits
07:02and there was no one at Turn 1.
07:04So maybe Piastri...
07:07Well, maybe Piastri did run off
07:08and he wasn't coming out of the pits.
07:09I thought...
07:11Yeah, I thought he was actually just coming out of the pits.
07:13That will be why, then.
07:15Verstappen fastest in the middle sector
07:17and the Ferrari of Charles Leclerc
07:20keeps nicely out of his way.
07:22He doesn't get the tow, of course,
07:24down the main straight.
07:26The old Macarena wings will be back in action
07:28for this weekend.
07:31And he crosses the line once again
07:33with the fastest tyre.
07:34This time a 1.45.7.
07:36George Russell.
07:38Now he's got a lap together.
07:39It is about half a second adrift
07:41with a 1.46.2
07:42and about four hundredths clear
07:45of his teammate Antonelli.
07:46But this is on the soft tyre for George
07:48and Kimmy's on the hard compound tyre.
07:51Riding on board here
07:52is about as scary
07:54as I want to watch on my TV
07:55before Halloween.
07:57Because you really...
07:58It's his teammate Gabriel Bortoletto
08:00giving him the tow.
08:01You do get a sense
08:02for just how close to the walls
08:04you get here.
08:05Are they practising this
08:06for qualifying?
08:08Because that was a fantastic tow
08:10and it dragged Niko Hulkenberg
08:12across the line to go P6.
08:14So is that something
08:16they're considering, you think?
08:17Well, why not?
08:18Yeah.
08:18Because it's like...
08:19Lap time.
08:19Yeah.
08:20And it's long enough
08:20to give one the tow
08:22to complete their lap
08:23and then one the tow
08:24to start their lap.
08:26Two for the price of one.
08:27Yeah.
08:29Oh, and that was Charles Leclerc.
08:31Maybe arriving at that corner
08:33a little bit faster
08:34than he had done before
08:34because he was getting
08:35the tow behind Max.
08:36That's the other thing
08:37that's where I'm on board
08:37with Liam Lawson.
08:39Where's this going to end up?
08:40Oh, just a brush at the wall.
08:42Light kiss from the right-hand side,
08:44isn't it?
08:45That cameraman
08:46must have an amazing...
08:49amazing view
08:51of the cars coming out of that corner.
08:53It's a good place to stand and watch.
08:55Hamilton, with a bit of luck,
08:56Jack Villeneuve will find his way
08:58down there later on this afternoon.
09:01We're going to send him trackside.
09:02Lewis Hamilton's got the medium tyre on.
09:05Ferrari deciding against running the soft
09:07in this practice session.
09:09I wonder if that means
09:10they'll save a set of softs
09:11for the race.
09:12And I say that
09:13because they did it in Monza
09:14and they did it in Madrid as well.
09:16And Barcelona.
09:17And Barcelona.
09:18But the Ferrari tends to go pretty well
09:20on the soft tyre
09:21at the start of a race
09:22in comparison to others.
09:23And given the way this race
09:25tends to pan out
09:26as a one-stop,
09:27it just opens their window
09:28of opportunity a little bit.
09:30I think interesting
09:30what you made a point of
09:32in terms of when we saw
09:33Charles Leclerc
09:34locking up into Turn 1
09:36is I think that's one
09:37of the biggest challenges
09:37they're going to have
09:38at a track like this
09:39this year is
09:40every time they approach Turn 1
09:42the speed is going to be different.
09:43Whether that's because
09:44of a slipstream,
09:45because of the deployment,
09:46because of the run they're on,
09:47it's always going to be
09:48slightly different.
09:49So picking your braking point,
09:51knowing exactly
09:52what you're going to have,
09:53into a corner like that
09:54is going to be a challenge
09:55for the drivers.
09:57Watching on board
09:57with Oscar Piastri
09:58and watching off-board here
09:59with Lewis Hamilton
10:01out on the track currently.
10:02Ted, though,
10:03has got news
10:04on Isaac Hadjar for us.
10:06It's a bit of a busy session,
10:07isn't it, Crofty?
10:07Full of woe
10:08for some drivers.
10:09And I'm sorry to say
10:10the Hadjar news
10:11is not good
10:12the suspected way.
10:14He suspected
10:14it was the engine
10:16failed.
10:16We've had nothing
10:18from the team
10:18confirming it either way,
10:19but what I can confirm
10:21is that he's not going
10:22to get out
10:22for the rest of the session.
10:23So that seems to be it.
10:25The car is on stands.
10:26The engine is being
10:28fettled
10:28and probably taken apart
10:30and either fixed
10:31or replaced
10:31for a free practice too.
10:33And so add
10:34Isaac Hadjar
10:35to Kimi Antonelli
10:36for people
10:37who have lost
10:38running time
10:38in this effort.
10:39Yeah, he needs it
10:40probably more than most
10:41given that he's not
10:42been in the car
10:43since Budapest.
10:45Carlos Sainz,
10:46you can see,
10:46is on track there
10:47behind Oscar Piastri.
10:49But I was just thinking
10:50about the Audi,
10:52Crofty.
10:52Yeah.
10:53Do you think
10:53they're running
10:53different programs?
10:55Because Hulkenberg
10:55is up in P6.
10:57Portoletto down
10:58and although he's
10:59on a good lap now,
11:00but he's still
11:01a second or so
11:02down to second one.
11:02I think he's a bit
11:03behind Nico
11:04in terms of
11:06his run plan.
11:07And he had that
11:09moment, didn't he,
11:10where at turn 10
11:11where he had to
11:12reverse back
11:12onto the track.
11:13He's actually
11:13on the investigation
11:15after this session
11:16for a yellow flag
11:16infringement as well.
11:18Let's look at
11:18the battery deployment
11:19as we ride on board
11:20with Charles Leclerc.
11:21This will be interesting.
11:22Yeah, there you go.
11:23See it 100%
11:23as he comes out
11:25of turn 16.
11:25Now just watch
11:26as he dumps the energy
11:27because what you
11:28want to do
11:28is accelerate
11:30out of the corner
11:31as quickly as possible
11:32and dump all
11:34of the battery power
11:34in the early part
11:35of the straight.
11:36And this is where
11:37now he's run
11:37out of the pack
11:38and now they're
11:38into the harvesting
11:39part of the straight.
11:42You see the light
11:43flashing along
11:44all the way down
11:45to turn one.
11:46The challenge is
11:47how much can they
11:48top up the pack
11:49into turn one
11:50and turn two
11:50because actually
11:51the straight
11:51from turns two
11:53down to turn three
11:54is also pretty long.
11:55On any other track
11:56as somebody goes off
11:57Alonso at turn one.
11:59On any other track
12:00the straight from
12:01turn two to three
12:02would actually be
12:03classified as
12:04quite a long straight.
12:05It's just here
12:05it pales in comparison
12:07with the 1.6 kilometers
12:10or two kilometers
12:11sorry from 16
12:12all the way to one.
12:13But do you always
12:14want to dump
12:15all that energy
12:16straight away?
12:18If you're in a
12:19slipstream of a car
12:20do you maybe
12:21want to save a little
12:22bit for when
12:22you've overtaken
12:23that car down
12:25the straight
12:26and then give
12:27yourself a bit
12:28of clearance
12:28with a bit more
12:29of an energy boost
12:30so that you can
12:31protect yourself
12:31from any attack
12:32out of turn
12:33or into
12:34into turn one?
12:35The racing
12:36is going to be
12:37different to
12:37naturally what you
12:38see on just one
12:39push lap
12:40and what have you
12:41and I think
12:41that's where
12:42the systems learn
12:42what's best
12:43and every team
12:44will have something
12:45slightly different
12:46but you'll be
12:47a sitting duck
12:47if you don't
12:48deploy everything
12:49on that main
12:50straight.
12:50I think for the
12:51rest of the lap
12:51how you deploy
12:52throughout the lap
12:53that's going to
12:53be quite interesting
12:54because I always
12:55find it interesting
12:55that's where teams
12:57do have differences
12:57and you always
12:58see it in the
12:58races.
12:59I totally get you
13:00there you want
13:00to deploy it all
13:01on the straight
13:01but do you want
13:02to dump it all
13:03at the start
13:03you have to
13:04you have to
13:04yeah just in terms
13:05they would have
13:06done all the
13:06simulations
13:07and I remember
13:07from racing in
13:08Formula E
13:09and driving other
13:10sort of hybrid
13:11cars and testing
13:12the most efficient
13:14way to get down
13:15the straight
13:15is accelerate
13:16out of it
13:17quickly
13:17because before
13:18the drag kicks
13:18in and all
13:19the rest of it
13:19you want to get
13:20up there as
13:20quickly as possible
13:23and what will
13:23happen is
13:24so using an
13:25example let's
13:26say two cars
13:26come out at
13:2716
13:27the one in
13:28front you're
13:29saying dumps
13:30the energy to
13:30come out
13:30and you're
13:31saying the one
13:31behind maybe
13:32keeps some
13:33for later on
13:34the trouble is
13:35the advantage
13:36that first car
13:37would have
13:37pulled coming
13:38out means
13:39you've dropped
13:39too far back
13:40from the slipstream
13:40as well to
13:41really make a
13:42difference later
13:43on but the
13:43difference I think
13:44the overtake
13:45mode could be a
13:46factor here
13:47maybe not into
13:48turn one because
13:49they're going to
13:49be energy starved
13:51but that ramp down
13:52could be a factor
13:53into turn three
13:55for example
13:55Oscar Piastri in
13:56the pits
13:57currently and
13:58they want to
13:59check the car
13:59and they've
14:00shut the car
14:00off so
14:01whatever they're
14:02seeing on the
14:03data this is a
14:04heavily upgraded
14:04McLaren don't
14:05forget they're
14:06not liking what
14:08they're seeing so
14:08they shut the car
14:09off and they are
14:09pushing him back
14:10into the garage
14:11and Lando Norris is
14:13also in the garage
14:13and they brought
14:14the tensor barrier
14:15across as well
14:16in his McLaren
14:18to just isolate
14:19things for a
14:20moment there's the
14:21Oscar side of the
14:22garage but the
14:23tensor barrier is up
14:24on that side now
14:25as well so it's
14:27all happening
14:27sadly for McLaren
14:28in the garage
14:29Charles Leclerc
14:30meanwhile with
14:32Karun Chandock's
14:33positive optimism
14:35and massive
14:36confidence behind
14:37him yeah being
14:38pushed along the
14:39main straight now
14:40come on Ferrari
14:41don't let me
14:42down yes
14:43sorry that's
14:44Lewis Hamilton
14:44Charles Leclerc
14:45is just here we
14:46are trying to
14:47pick him up
14:48going through the
14:49castle section
14:50the old part of
14:51Azerbaijan
14:52yeah what's fun
14:53for these drivers
14:53really from turn
14:54three all the way
14:55to turn 16
14:56they are pushing
14:57hard they are
14:57flat out as
14:59as much as
15:00they can
15:01and while
15:03trying to harvest
15:04the energy but
15:04I'm saying in terms
15:05of their driving
15:06they are pushing
15:07really hard in this
15:08whole section and
15:09now he's still
15:10still slightly up
15:12compared to George
15:13across the lap
15:13he's lost time in
15:15the middle sector
15:16but now it's all
15:18about tuck your
15:19head down and
15:19just try and get
15:20a clean run to
15:22the timing line
15:23George had a huge
15:24slipstream from
15:25Fernando Alonso on
15:26his best lap so I
15:27would be surprised if
15:28we see the Ferrari
15:29beat him in the last
15:30sector but I could be
15:31wrong
15:33I think you've
15:34explained your work
15:35in the margins
15:35enough and there
15:36is that four tenths
15:37of a second
15:38difference between
15:39George Russell and
15:40Charles Leclerc
15:40the slipstream
15:41very very powerful
15:42here whether
15:44Charles would have
15:44made it with a
15:45slipstream we're yet
15:46to know 17 minutes
15:48to go see McLaren's
15:49in the garage George
15:50Russell is fastest
16:0013 minutes to go
16:02then in Baku and
16:03we're seeing that
16:04the benefit of the
16:05toe already a four
16:07tenths gap McLaren
16:08Hamilton and
16:10Verstappen to George
16:10Russell not saying it
16:12was all the four
16:13tenths but he got a
16:14very big toe behind
16:15Fernando Alonso and
16:17the others didn't
16:17and that was a
16:18massive toe he got
16:19it was like Fernando
16:20also stayed in front
16:22of him the whole way
16:23down the straight
16:23and then also went
16:25on a straight yeah
16:26exactly as you say
16:27just to really give
16:29him every single
16:30benefit whether he
16:30meant to do that or
16:31not I'm not sure but
16:32the chances of you
16:33know replicating
16:34something like that is
16:35very challenging if
16:37there was a driver
16:37taking an engine
16:38penalty then for sure
16:39they should be
16:40practicing it to to
16:41help one another and
16:42their teammates
16:45reality you're never
16:46going to be able to
16:46sacrifice yourself that
16:47much so if you're
16:50Charles Leclerc it's
16:52a lot of talk is
16:53Charles Leclerc going
16:53to take a new engine
16:54a new power unit for
16:56this weekend and he
16:57was very tight-lipped
16:59on that if he is it
17:01will come tomorrow
17:02either before in FP3
17:04or that they'll swap
17:05it in in the way that
17:07Rebel do with Liam
17:08Lawson and Monza just
17:09before Qualy then that's
17:12exactly what you need
17:13to be doing if you get
17:13into Q3 you know help
17:15the team make because
17:15you're going to take
17:16the penalty but if
17:17you're not starting at
17:18the back of the grid you
17:19still want to be as high
17:20up as you go and it
17:21might have to be right
17:22there's there's two runs
17:23in Q3 and you're going
17:24to help your teammate on
17:25one and he's going to
17:26help you on the other
17:27try and work that one
17:28out for any team
17:29yeah I also think this
17:31whole thing of you know
17:32you flip-flop between
17:33teammates in terms of
17:35who gives who the the
17:37tow and the order you
17:39send the cars out I think
17:41and I don't know if Ferrari
17:42have done this but I
17:43wouldn't necessarily do it
17:44every track right because
17:46for example in Madrid there
17:47was no benefit yeah to the
17:49tow you actually want to be
17:50the car in front and not
17:51have the dirty air so I
17:53almost think the teams need
17:55to look at the calendar and
17:56say okay there's certain
17:57circuits Spa Monza here
18:00Vegas you know certain
18:01tracks where there is a
18:02benefit and so you can have a
18:04few and you can have a few
18:05and we'll divvy it up that
18:06way rather than just saying
18:08it's every weekend we'll
18:09flip-flop I Okumatsu is
18:11sat as he always is on the
18:13house pit wall and he's
18:14with us thank you very much
18:17for the whole weekend I
18:18have good to good to see
18:19you there my friend and is
18:21this been a decent session
18:22for you so far Esteban
18:23currently on a personal
18:25best lap is 11 fastest it's
18:28all play but we had a bit
18:29of a reliability issue with
18:31Esteban's car a couple of
18:32times so we are a bit behind
18:34on the program all these
18:35program is going okay but
18:36I think we need to find a
18:37bit more speed what were the
18:39issues early on because
18:40there were a few cars that
18:41actually had brake issues
18:42weren't there his issue was
18:45one of the newer parts on the
18:47back of the car that wasn't
18:48working very well and also
18:50had a bit of a telemetry
18:51issue as well so that
18:52delayed his program I can
18:54we just take a step back
18:56from the here and now and
18:57look at the season on the
18:59whole we were talking
18:59earlier about you guys
19:01came out the block so
19:02strong in the early part of
19:04the season and then it's sort
19:06of gone away from you and on
19:07the development race have you
19:08understood perhaps where where
19:11those deficiencies are and is
19:14there a plan to upgrade the car
19:15between now and the end of the
19:16year yeah definitely I think we
19:19focused on the right things at
19:20the start of the season so that
19:22was very good but then the
19:23upgrade we put on the car in
19:25Montreal that didn't deliver
19:27everything and also took a long
19:28direction then as a small team it
19:31took us a very very long time to
19:33get back and then improve on
19:35that so finally we put a
19:37collected package in the
19:39monster that's working very
19:40well but you know here both
19:42Audi and Williams put lots of
19:43upgrade and so yeah competition
19:45is ever so tight
19:46and I Esteban yesterday told the
19:50media that he's a free agent for
19:51next year and there's been a lot
19:53of chatter about this now I'm not
19:55going to ask you who you've picked
19:57or who's coming to the team but
19:58but say you know and I've done
20:00three laps in an F1 car say I
20:02wanted to come to Haas what are you
20:04looking for in a driver for next
20:05year because I might I might fancy
20:07put my application in now
20:09no I mean to be fair Esteban has
20:11been free agent for you know some
20:13time of course again now considering
20:15Esteban too yeah obviously first
20:18and foremost you need a speed but
20:20also the quality of the feedback is
20:22very important also need to be a
20:24really team player especially for
20:26teams like us we really rely quite a
20:27lot on our two drivers to help us on
20:29the development direction so to be a
20:31team player and then the application
20:34work ethic that's very very important
20:37and I have you got a timeline for
20:39when you want to make a decision
20:40because you know we know you've
20:41tested lots of young drivers you've
20:44had drivers from the Toyota program
20:45as well as some other driver programs
20:48coming through have you and Jean has
20:50set a timeline or is this something
20:53you don't need to do till the end of
20:55the year I'm waiting for you to get in
20:57the car car hey listen I'm running
20:59there now okay now I think yeah I'd
21:01like to think we can make a decision
21:02soon let's say by the end of this
21:05month oh yeah very close okay we are
21:09wait with interest and we'll talk to you
21:10about it more later thanks ever so much
21:12I great to talk to you and I'm better
21:15at running than you Karoon you're better
21:16on a bike than me Jamie I reckon could
21:19beat us both all the way down to Haas
21:21because it's it's a seat that any driver
21:23would want surely I don't think I would
21:26fit into S van Ocon or Oli Behrman's seat
21:28though I think both of you stand a better
21:30chance of reaching the pedals than I do
21:32Jamie if Ayo said there's a drive
21:34available you'll find some cushions on the
21:36way all right we'll get you a boost to see
21:37I'll get the medieval torture rack out
21:39we'll have another foot on here by the
21:41end of the end of the day Ted
21:44McLaren I see Lando Norris on track
21:51Ted come on in yes I'm down here so
21:55so what's gone wrong well I can tell you
21:57it's a loose barge board a wobbly floorboard
22:00on Lando Norris's car and take a look at
22:03this this is the temporary fix
22:06probably they put a little stay and
22:08they've they've secured that stay to the
22:11barge board with a tie wrap can you see
22:14the plastic tie wrap I mean I know it's a
22:17truism in Formula One that advanced
22:20technology rules in this pit lane but
22:22sometimes these cars are kept together
22:24with gaffer tape and tie wraps but none is
22:27is more true than this temporary fix
22:30to the little wobbly they saw a bit of
22:33flexion in the in the barge board there
22:35the the floorboard and they've had to
22:37secure it just for these the end of this
22:39session so Lando can get out Oscar's
22:41still in the garage I think he will make
22:43one more run towards the end of it once
22:45his barge boards have been secured with
22:47a little stay and a tie wrap as well
22:49incredible stuff down here at McLaren
22:51thank you very much Ted Grams so McLaren
22:55with the upgrades and having a having a
22:58session where there's going to be an
23:00awful lot of data passed back and forth
23:01between here and Woking and maybe a few
23:04changes need to be made for the the next
23:07session a loss of hydraulic pressure has
23:10kept Kimi Antonelli trackside for quite
23:14some time now he only got nine laps in
23:16before that hydraulic pressure loss and he
23:20had to stop we've seen cars locking up
23:21we've seen drivers struggling with
23:23brakes it's been an eventful session it
23:26really has Jamie Chadwick it has we've
23:29seen quite a lot of drivers find their
23:30way in the runoff no one's found it into
23:33the wall though there is a yellow flag out
23:34currently so I don't want to speak too
23:36soon but it looks a handful all the
23:38drivers getting more and more familiar
23:39and comfortable as the track that
23:40obviously evolves Carlos Sainz on a lap
23:43now be interested to see where he goes
23:44he's one and a half seconds off at the
23:45moment of teammate is and he jumps up
23:48actually similar to his teammate one and a
23:50half seconds as Arvid Lindblad has found
23:53the runoff as well you know I joked about
23:55him practicing a three-point turn I was
23:58really hoping that that was just a joke
24:00that he wasn't gonna have to try and do it
24:02but actually this might be a bit of
24:03reversing yeah because he's stranded
24:05where he's just gone past the runoff area
24:08where Kimi Antonelli went off he's going to
24:11have to reverse back when it's safe to do
24:13so and then carry on his way well actually
24:16where he's parked he can reverse on a
24:18straight line and then we've got Nico
24:20Hülkenberg stops as well marshals are
24:23putting on their marigolds there they're
24:25putting on the rubber gloves just so that
24:27they can touch the car safely it's got a
24:30green light though so I think it is safe
24:32maybe it's proportionate for marshals oh he's
24:34done it smash reverse now you can see the
24:36smoke coming off the brake so we need to
24:38drive along get some air cool those
24:40brakes down quickly that'll happen
24:42actually within a within a few few
24:45meters really which is good meanwhile at
24:47turn four the marshals have now come onto
24:49the track I imagine to push Nico Hülkenberg
24:52back can I just point something out
24:55while we've got this VSC is just the
24:57time gap between second third and fourth
24:59roughly yeah three hundredths of a second
25:01they're all four tenths behind George but
25:04as Jamie pointed out earlier George picked
25:06up a monster toe worth four tenths so I think I'm kind what I'm alluding to is
25:13actually I think the first four are probably very close together if you
25:17disregard the slipstream exactly I think you've made a very very good point
25:23that would have been interesting to see where Kimi would have found himself as
25:26well but yeah all things considered that's the thing though you have to put the lap
25:31together with the slipstream everything all at once and I don't think any of those
25:35drivers have done that on the first lap by any means so there's still a lot more
25:39potential for a lot of the drivers out there and what we're also saying is it's a
25:56that's going to absolutely catapult you up down up the order but it's so hard to orchestrate that unless you've
26:05got it with a teammate and then you're sacrificing one car so it's there's an element of luck in there
26:12and planning I guess I would dare say because let's think of Monza and Pierre Gasly right
26:19Alpine did a superb job with Gasly they released him out of the pits at exactly the
26:25right time gaps at exactly the right management on the out lap as well they planned this yeah
26:29from the outset there was a group of kind of four engineers on the pit wall and then the two
26:35race
26:36engineers because they did it for Colopinto as well and they went through it in fine detail
26:40and then with the mechanics like you be ready when we say go you go yeah and that level of
26:46planning
26:46involves also trying to understand what other cars are doing on the route lap because you can't
26:50control them but just looking at their trends from practice and trying to see what they do and where
26:56they might harvest and slow down and do the brakes all that sort of stuff so Alpine showed actually in
27:02Monza that with some good planning you can orchestrate that but it's very difficult to do because as George
27:09found out at Monza they had done all the planning that they thought and then found Max Verstappen
27:15in the way so he you know that just completely threw him the person that did the best job of
27:20it I
27:21thought was Isaac at Spa with Max yes oh yes I think he absolutely nailed the positioning of it
27:27obviously Max was so committed not to lift being that close um through Blasheim on but I think that
27:32that was a perfect solution another driver has stopped and he's trying to get the car back in
27:38the gear so I wonder it he's a pit exit yeah that's a problem so has it got into this
27:46is anti-stool not
27:47kicked in the revs dropped oh you you mean do you do you think he tried to do a practice
27:52start I wonder
27:53oh no he's waving his arms yeah the thing is that this is the time whether if they are coming
27:59in well
28:00here's I'm just looking here Lando Norris is just making his way down the pit lane and he wants to
28:05get out so he can do his practice starts on the grid and they're going to find well the pit
28:09lane exit
28:09is still open but I wonder for how much longer it's pretty safe to get a car uh to drive
28:16around there
28:17just on the subject of Alpine did you notice as well looking back at uh at Monza that they uh
28:23they
28:23were picking up a tow behind a car with a Macarena wing I get the feeling that they feel there
28:30is a
28:30more of an advantage to be had in slipstreaming a car with a Macarena wing and then there is without
28:37watch and see that again this weekend and I know you're pulling a face there Karim Chandler they would
28:42have genuinely they would have worked out which cars are best to follow exactly you've got it going
28:47well done there you go and there will be a trade-off in obviously you can't follow a car that's
28:54performances so far away that they're likely to catch them super quick what have you but they would
28:58have looked at the numbers to work out which is like when you go cycling it's always nice to be
29:03sat
29:03behind someone of a bigger build than it is someone of a smaller build and so uh I mean Formula
29:08One cars
29:09are much much closer in that sense but I'm sure the teams would have looked at that and there might
29:13be
29:14something in that equally to then time that plan that with pit lane exit with whoever's ended up in
29:20Q3 all of these things uh isn't always the luxury that you have you find that when you're cycling as
29:26well no I'm normally the one with the fat bum that people are trying to follow I didn't that was
29:30not
29:31me leading you into that as Bortoleto seems to try to pick up a bit of a toe uh behind
29:35Franco
29:36Colopinto checkered flag is out so these are the uh the final uh laps that will count for any time
29:42and uh Bortoleto in getting that toe moves up in into p8 oh I'm already looking forward to qualifying
29:49on Friday now this is this has the potential uh to be one of those cat and mouse qualifying sessions
29:57and also yeah do you want to leave it a little bit late as well and risk that there'll be
30:01no yellow
30:02flags or red flags leave it a bit late pick up as much of a toe or as much of
30:06an advantage as you can
30:07yeah so we haven't seen McLaren really put together a lot because they've had issues both cars in the
30:13garage for an extended period of time but Piastri is on track now and he's got personal best in the
30:19middle sector it's not close enough really to pick up a toe there from Alton distance uh if he's getting
30:26anything but he does go sixth fastest this there's quite a big spread now about four seconds uh from
30:32Valtteri Bottas former winner here uh all the way up to uh George Russell yet to win in the back
30:39of
30:39George Russell but a podium finisher in three of the last four years yeah I tell you it's a stat
30:44that
30:44jumped at me Crofty is about how Aston Martin had the fastest speed trap figure last year
30:52and that's not a sentence I feel we're going to be saying this year no no sadly uh power is
30:59is not
30:59something they have uh majorly at their their disposal but see the Williams has always been
31:04fast in a straight line uh here in Baku and they've had some very good years uh here over the
31:10years uh
31:10the last few years in fact looking at the Williams stats actually wrote this down their best results
31:15in the season and come here in each of the last two seasons uh Isaac Hadjar due to the fact
31:23he'd been
31:23stranded in the garage for all but eight laps that he's done here finds himself down in the bottom three
31:29currently with Lance Stroll and Valtteri Bottas uh behind him and the Williams upgrade has at least
31:34taken them clear of of a few of their competitors but this is just FP1 and we take we don't
31:42take results
31:42with a pinch of salt but we know that things can improve or or not very drastically between now
31:49and when we go uh qualifying Jamie Chadwick thank you very much indeed uh you need to run down to
31:54the
31:54paddock and join Natalie and Jack Villeneuve while we look at some starts on the grid here and Franco
32:00Colin Pinto let the engine uh revs rise before he gets away Charles Leclerc behind here the heat
32:07is coming off that Ferrari you can see so much energy that goes through these cars and the power units
32:14as uh why does this often do that don't they you see a little bit of that smoke and in
32:19fact it carries
32:19on even on track it's not just when they're parked on the on the grid or in the pits here's
32:26a stat for
32:26you did you know there's enough energy in a formula one fuel tank to power a detached home like a
32:35decent
32:36sized detached home uh for round about six weeks I did not uh that's one of your better random stats
32:44just out of the fuel cell alone you want to talk about energy that gives you a bit of energy
32:48there
32:49my friend and that's sustainable fuel as well that we're running for uh for this year as more cars come
32:55to the grid and we can get a really good side-on view here uh for George Russell don't go
33:00back too far
33:01I want to see if there's any wheel spin oh we're not going to see that's a real shame I
33:05would have
33:05liked to have seen the practice start uh from the side there
33:12let me get some nice shots of the heat haze instead Oscar Piastri uh the latest to uh to join
33:18the grid
33:18it was it was wild what happened with Oscar last year here wasn't it jump start well first crash in
33:25qualifying then a jump start then the crash in the race on lap one as the leader of the championship
33:30it was one of the most bizarre weekends uh I'm afraid it was for him reported something hanging
33:37in his cockpit at fp1 in Madrid I'm not sure what was going on in his cockpit today but he
33:41finished sixth
33:41fastest and it was George Russell who had the fastest time by four tenths of a second caveat
33:47that with he got a great toe behind Fernando Alonso on that fastest lap Verstappen Leclerc Hamilton
33:53separated by mere hundredths of a second Kimi Antonelli loss of hydraulic pressure that's why he's
33:59left down in fifth he only did nine laps in the session Liam Lawson who got his career best
34:04qualifying and result here last year and Arvin Lindblad is racing ball's teammates seventh and eighth
34:09Ocon Bortoletto completing the top 10 the two McLarens lots of upgrades and lots of checks as the car went
34:15back to the garage time and time again uh out of the top 10 uh with Lando Norris Piastri uh
34:22of course
34:22sixth fastest and Pierre Gasly Sergio Perez uh roundabout 1.6 1.8 seconds off the pace uh the two
34:30Williams
34:30drivers Sainz and Albon 12th and 13th a decent session for them with their upgrades Valtteri Bottas was the
34:36slowest driver four seconds between all 22 drivers that's the first practice session done roll on FP2
34:47yes indeed David busy session wasn't it plenty to pour over there and plenty to enjoy throughout the
34:53weekend i've never been a caddy before so it's a new experience for me my reputation with caddies is you
35:01know i'm very stern and stressed on my tally so Lando should be finished i mean you've got to know
35:05the
35:05guy you're working with how they're feeling what they're thinking how they approach different shots
35:09obviously i know Justin's game like the back of my hand so i know what his what is uh what
35:15his
35:15strengths are and how to play a course so hopefully i'll be able to give him the right clubs
35:40yes Jamie's feature is very special indeed look forward to that okay next up we've got practice
35:45two at 12 30 with the f1 show at 2 15 and then tomorrow friday 9 15 practice three qualifying
35:54at 12 30
35:56and if you've missed it it can be repeated at 3 36 and 8 30 and then of course it
36:02is the race on
36:03saturday you're going to be bored of me saying it by the end but don't miss it we're on air
36:08from 10 30
36:09with lights out at midday on saturday okay well it's george russell who went fastest in the first
36:17practice session he benefited from a decent toe to put it four tenths of the opposition
36:23plenty to discuss though from what was a very busy session all of that on the way next
36:41welcome back to baku where george russell has put it fastest in the first practice session four
36:46tenths ahead of the rest of the field but jack villeneuve that was most likely down to a giant
36:52toe that he was able to take advantage of and it does a big big difference on this track with
36:58the
36:58long straight line but anyway it's always been a quick car whichever track we go to uh he didn't have
37:04uh the stress or pressure of his teammate being there so maybe that gave him a little bit of freedom
37:08just tell me why the toe is so significant here the opportunities to take it the opportunity for
37:14a bit of decent teamwork as well it is because a straight line is long and at higher speeds you
37:20move a lot of air and mostly now when they have to start recuperating some energy they lose horsepower
37:25when they're doing that so the toe will have an even bigger effect okay well antonelli as you mentioned
37:29didn't put him under pressure in that session because at 34 minutes to go he stopped his car
37:35with hydraulic failure and this is really not how he'd want to start his azerbaijan race weekend
37:43but a smoke also coming from his car jack and uh if you look here it looks like he gets
37:49squirted in
37:49the face as well by the fire extinguisher which is actually you know potentially very dangerous
37:57yeah well it doesn't look like he went in in his eyes he didn't squirt yeah but he didn't put
38:01his
38:01fingers to his eyes if something he would put your fingers there but the thing is we don't know yet
38:06because anthony's locked in at turn seven because what often happens at this racetrack is the roads
38:11rule you have to if you're out you're out you just have to wait the side of the track until
38:14there's no
38:15easy way to walk depending yeah if you want to if you break down you want to break down where
38:19it's easy to
38:19come back to to to the track but at least he gets a good view of what's happening this is
38:23true his
38:23opponent so now losing friday morning is not a big deal uh mostly with the car he has he's confident
38:29the car does what he wants all the time so he will recover very easily they've done a lot of
38:32miles
38:33in the sims so for the rest of the weekend no issues brilliant thumbs up from him so that is
38:37good
38:37to see okay so what do you make of mercedes as a whole you think they're going to be strong
38:43here
38:43they've been strong everywhere even a bad weekend they're still at the front so it's not a full
38:49how are you mate i'm all right alan permain joins us i see you i cannot finish my phrase
38:53sorry yeah i mean it was brilliant it was great tv gold right there but i'm sure you'll deliver even
38:58more uh so of course the racing balls team principle uh thank you for coming along so let's
39:03just reflect on that session to begin with how happy were you with it uh pretty good um i think
39:08we're sixth and seventh or seventh and eighth something like that uh all all working okay
39:13seventh and eighth seventh and eighth yeah okay uh you know it's normal baku uh thursday morning
39:19friday morning uh wherever we are uh low grip uh plenty of sliding around a few little issues here
39:26brake lockings bits and bobs but generally uh both guys happy well you have a driver that's come back
39:31from the big team to to to the smaller team and normally when that happens they're all like down and
39:36oh now i'm in a small team again but seems that he's actually driving so did he come back all
39:41pumped
39:41up from his experience very much so he was uh so he enjoyed his time there he was very much
39:47wanting
39:47to get back in his car as he called it i want to be back in my car and uh
39:51he's he's uh he started
39:53where he left off basically it looks like i mean seriously impressive how he adapted because
39:58he didn't know how long he was going to be out for we kept hearing that had you was coming
40:00back
40:01for the next race at the next race and they didn't want to rush his recovery rightly so
40:04but lawson really did adapt very well and put in some very strong performances so
40:09how pleased are you for him in terms of his the trajectory of his career but also what he can
40:15bring back to the team i'm super happy for him of course he did he did a he did a
40:19very credible job
40:20there i think i think we saw in that very first session in zandvo that first qualifying session he
40:24was at about a tenth off max so so that would have boosted his confidence uh he's certainly come back
40:30here with his head held high and and ready to go but i think it's good for both of them
40:34they work very
40:35very well together and and certainly we can see that arvid will be quicker in some corners liam will be
40:41quicker than others and they and they just through the weekend they lift each other up do you see liam
40:46as a different driver now because when he came back from japan got into f1 he he took a little
40:51bit of a
40:51beating and and a lot of drivers when that happens they go to red bull then they never recover but
40:56he seems to be getting stronger and stronger was that good schooling i think this year we've he's
41:01worked very hard we've worked very hard together and and there's no doubt he's much more focused he's
41:07driving better he's better on track off track i think all in all areas he he's better and that's
41:12that's down to his hard work and and avid hasn't had an incredibly strong run of consecutive points
41:20finishes how pleased are you with his progress in his rookie year oh amazing really really amazing if
41:25anything we have to just i don't want to say slow him down because that's not that's not the right
41:29words but remind him sometimes that is you know he's quite hard on himself when he if he makes a
41:33mistake that the the shunt in fp2 in madrid was was was of course not great and he was very
41:40he
41:40apologized a hundred times and we've said look forget it let's just learn from it we we we move on
41:47and uh
41:48uh and and let's try and put a good qualifying together but he he he's i think he's outperforming
41:53our expectations and probably everyone else's well you have a young pairing now uh of drivers even
42:00though liam is the one with experience they're still both young but they seem to both work
42:04as a team should work with experience and and that's very surprising is that down to the whole
42:08team the way the team is structured and works or it's just to the down to the two characters um
42:12i guess
42:13it's down to a little bit the way we work and as i say we try and and work for
42:18the team of course they
42:19want to work for themselves as well because they want to put themselves in the spotlight but as i
42:23say we try and learn across cars they they talk well together they work well together out of the
42:29cockpit and and and as i say it it just lifts both through the weekend so do you expect that
42:33to be the
42:34driver pairing for some time to come or is it certainly the end of this year yeah okay very good
42:39very good how much of is it down to the car because we we're hearing time and again what a
42:44benign car
42:45it is that it's at least i mean i can't say easy to drive because none of them okay well
42:49you could
42:50say that i can't but how much of it is about the car and what is it about this car
42:54what are the
42:54characteristics that seem to suit your drivers so well um that's a that's a really tough one to
42:59answer i think what we've done through the year is we've just put a load on the car we've we've
43:03just
43:04put downforce on and every time we've brought an upgrade it's worked we have a new front wing here
43:08which liam ran for a test um and looks to be working as we think it should be so that's
43:15that's
43:15another little step so i think that the car i don't know whether it's easier than others to drive or
43:20not but it's it's just it goes faster when we when the the developments come from the wind tunnel and
43:27uh and and they're able to exploit it on track it certainly seems to go well pretty much on that
43:32subject when you think about it's a team that often as young drivers without a lot of experience and
43:37there's a lot of changes every year two years three years how do you cope with that aspect with
43:42development how does that help or hinder the the evolutions in the car yeah another difficult
43:48question thank you jv been lining them up for you it's it we we take what we know from the
43:55car and we
43:56learn we learn over the years we learn what makes these things go fast and and and of course we
44:02take
44:02driver input but we also take what we've learned and seen and and i talk quite often about what
44:08happened to us in in barcelona in in 24 where we bought this huge upgrade and we actually went a
44:14lot slower and we made some massive learning for that so it's not just about driving feedback it's
44:19actually knowing where to put downforce um so all those lessons together but you're right changing
44:24drivers it does it does hamper that a little bit i think it's all down to the team principle myself
44:29well keep telling people that please absolutely thank you very much for your time and go well for
44:34the rest of the weekend thank you okay let's head over to karoon who's at the skypad
44:40thanks anthony i've got george russell here on the left and max verstappen on the right let's have a
44:44look at where the differences were around this baku street circuit down into the first corner and you
44:49see russell already slightly ahead as we get through and uh i'll actually pause it when we get to the
44:55apex
44:56of turn two because he just has pulled a little bit let's use the f1 logo there on the inside
45:02and you
45:02can see he's a good couple of car lengths ahead of max so already just in the first part of
45:08the lap
45:08hardly the the first few hundred meters george is already a chunk ahead of verstappen and that carries
45:15on really for for the the early part of the lap and boat drivers pretty clean boat drivers also giving
45:23the edge of the track a slightly wider berth as the dust is still built up there they do wash
45:28the tracks
45:29here overnight so we'll have a look we get to the five six chicane and i'll just again use that
45:34as a
45:34reference you can see george is further around the corner slightly wider line on the way in let me turn
45:40right for turn six verstappen in the middle part of the lap had a little bit of traffic which
45:46maybe disturbed him a little bit through seven they got out of the way nicely through here now watch as
45:52they come through this castle section it's so narrow the narrowest part of the formula one calendar and
46:00and you get blind as you go up there just with the with the sun sometimes in the evenings not
46:05so much
46:05of an issue here but just looking at the apex of that right-hander it's still advantage russell so
46:11he's carried on in terms of the the middle part of the lap which is all about chassis balance it's
46:16not really about power it's all about having grip traction and balance through there but when we get
46:22to 15 this is an interesting one for me so there's a line just on the way into the corner
46:28i'll sneak up
46:29to it here there you go and you can see it's advantage russell he's in front the advantage we saw
46:35up at
46:35turn two has pretty much stayed the same all the way through but max has a good run through 15
46:42and then
46:43i think deploys a bit more energy on the run down the hill because when we get to the entry
46:48of turn 16
46:50there the staff is now in front here i'll tell you what here's a 50 meter board up there and
46:55up there so
46:56verstappen in that short shoot coming through 15 and then the run down i wonder if he deployed a bit
47:02of energy there more than the russell who's banking him for this long run to the timing line now early
47:10in the straight verstappen picks up a slipstream from charlacler and at this point you can see using
47:16the wall on the right he's actually still in front he's got that early slipstream there from the ferrari
47:22and that's pulled him a bit further ahead but as the straight unfolds it's george who picks up the toe
47:28from the aston martin there's fernando alonso just watch as it gets closer and closer and closer
47:33that is absolutely perfect in terms of placement and you can see that was four tenths just on that
47:40final straight so you guys were talking about the benefit of the slipstream hopefully this is a good
47:45illustration of just how powerful it can be around the circuit thank you karoon yes beautiful to watch
47:53those cars down that main straight and benefiting from the toe jamie this is a perfect start to george's
47:58weekend isn't it definitely i think a nice confidence booster i think you'll know you'll see
48:02on the data how significant that toe was um but for everyone it didn't happen first time of asking i
48:08think we know a track evolution here gets better and better but it's not easy to put the lap together
48:12of course kimmy wasn't in that session to be a direct comparison but it took time to get the
48:16lap time out of it for everyone so whilst he'll be happy i'm sure they'll also be feeling like it
48:21wasn't easy out there and that actually there's quite a lot of work to do no doubt our chat got
48:25curtailed a bit earlier when alan joined us what were you going to tell us about the toe and just
48:28how easy it is to execute or indeed otherwise i have no clue i've completely forgotten but concerning
48:35i'm sure it'd be brilliant no it's great to get a toe down the straight line it's worth
48:38so much the problem is if you're also behind the car in the corners you will lose what you will
48:43gain
48:43then in the straights how do you hit it uh at the right at the right time it's good when
48:48it's at the
48:49start of a lap it's a little bit more difficult at the end of a lap i mean it's certainly
48:53great to
48:53watch isn't it oh and as a driver you know you're so happy you can feel the buffeting as well
48:59you even
48:59put your head lower push hard on the throat doesn't do anything but you get into that mindset and and
49:04somehow yeah the speed you pick it pick up is incredible it feels good doesn't it we did see
49:08some lock-ups though into turn one um from the guy that was second on the team sheets max verstappen
49:13certainly a lot of drivers just struggling to get their groove around here it's not easy is it
49:18no max george a lot of them all locking up that's to be expected from this kind of track also
49:23in these instances they're all going to go straight on they don't mind missing the corner come
49:26qualifying in that instance maybe not there's going to be more eagerness to try and uh make the corners
49:32like situations like this is where everything's going to get worse so um yeah it's tough for all
49:36of them is it hadja is back so two are his irate team radio messages um we can have a
49:42listen to this
49:46uh crazy putting on the brakes like crazy copy that he's nearly shunted in the wall
50:10so uh yeah not the easiest session for him for his first session back for a while great stuff okay
50:17he's had a bunch of time at home to build it up it's coming out exactly so it's george russell
50:22who's
50:22gone fastest join us again at 12 30 for the second practice here in baku
