OpenAI has expanded the GPT-6 family with GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna, two models designed to bring GPT-6 capabilities to more practical and cost-sensitive workloads.
OpenAI says the API prices for Sol and Luna are 50% lower than the promotional pricing of their GPT-5.6 counterparts. GPT-6 Sol is positioned for demanding reasoning, coding and agentic workflows, while GPT-6 Luna is optimized for efficient, high-volume tasks.
