00:00I suppose late July, which is a tough time to say you started feeling more passion for being
00:05in the dugout. It was a tough time. It was trade deadline. We weren't necessarily winning baseball
00:10games. There was a lot of conversations that had to be had with players to help walk them through
00:15difficult chapters. And I started thinking if I have such a passion for the hard times,
00:23I'm looking forward to the good times. And as August went through and we had a chance to
00:29move forward with the new group, especially in the bullpen, it became more and more clear to me.
00:35I talked to my wife first. It starts there every time. And didn't even broach with our girls. It
00:41was a non-starter. And they came up in early September, spent some time at Citi Field, and
00:47caused a lot of conversations to unfold with us as a family. And it took five of us to get
00:55there
00:55before I made that call to David. And once the five of us were there, the decision ultimately
01:01at that point was out of our hands. We were just sharing where our passion was. And I was
01:07eager for the opportunity should it arise. And grateful that it did. Grateful that David's
01:12entrusted it to me and that Steve and Alex felt the same way as well.
