00:07The friendship, the togetherness, the support of each other.
00:13I'm an only child.
00:14I had three brothers.
00:15And, you know, brothers are brows and, you know,
00:19little get-togethers and then little get-aparts.
00:24But for me, it was great.
00:27And musically, it was dynamite, which it's still out there, you know,
00:34the chance to play that.
00:36Right.
00:37And, you know, it's all happened in eight years.
00:40Right.
00:41Which is, I mean, it's just insane.
00:44I think, though, now I do think we possibly would have got together sometime
00:51from, you know, John leaving us to now, if we were all still around.

01:02Which is heartbreaking.

01:09So life, you know, it's life's rich pattern, really.
01:12How often do you speak to Paul?
01:15Well, a couple of times a month.
01:17Right.
01:18You know, he comes here quite a bit, so we usually hook up.
01:24And we were in England.
01:28You know, if he's in England, we go to visit England,
01:31mainly visit the family.
01:34You know, we'll have dinner or we'll go around and hang.
01:38So, yeah, a couple of times a month.
01:41Which is lovely.
01:42That's so lovely.
01:43I mean, think about it.
01:45Yeah.
01:46I'm on his last record.
01:49Right.
01:49You know.
01:50And he's been on a lot of mine.
01:52He'd come over with his bass and play over the years.
01:57You know, so we're still pals.
01:59What do you think about, you know, this is obviously you know about it,
02:02the new movie that's being made and Barry Keong, who's playing you.
02:06What do you think about that?
02:07Well, yeah.
02:09Well, I think it's amazing, actually.
02:12And, you know, the guy's making four movies.
02:16The difficulty was he's putting this story with that story.
02:20And Paul and I have to both let go of that.
02:23It's not a documentary.
02:25It's not like he did this.
02:26He did it like another day in the movie.
02:29It's a story of four stories, you know, one on each of us.
02:34But, you know, of course, we all get in together sometimes.
02:37Right.
02:38So, you know, we just said, OK, it's a movie.
02:41And, you know, I remember watching the Johnny Cash documentary.
02:46Well, it was a movie, actually.
02:47Some actor was playing him.
02:49And they did this.
02:50I'm saying, well, what about when he did this?
02:52And what about when he was there?
02:54So, you know, it's just it's going to be as real as can be.
03:00And you're on tour again, which obviously you love doing.
03:05But, like, at your age, that's amazing to be on tour.
03:09Like, how do you manage that?
03:10Because everyone's just touring is exhausting.
03:12I don't know.
03:14I'm just fit enough to do it.
03:16Sometimes mentally I say, oh, that's enough.
03:19And then a week later I say, oh, no, it's not.
03:23And I give up some guy a call and he sets the tour up.
03:27I mean, we're doing 10 gigs and we're doing it in two weeks and two days.
03:33Right.
03:34So that's pretty speedy, you know.
03:37Right.
03:37But, you know, because of Colin and Luca, you know, it's not just me.
03:45The weight's taken by the other singers, you know, like it pulls out there.
03:48He's got to do it all.
03:49So he needs a break after it.
03:52And so we can manage that.
03:55But, you know, I used to do, like, 30-odd shows.
03:58Now I did 12 in the spring and I'm doing 10 in the autumn.
