00:08Because what has happened now is there an advisory that seems to be doing the rounds,
00:14for which a clarification has come now from Bhagwan Tman government.
00:18And the Punjab government has done a fact check on that as well.
00:21Bhagwan Tman government says no diktat or no uniform while travelling.
00:26Government says no advisory has been given to Punjab cops to hide identity.
00:30But it is the leader of opposition in the Punjab Assembly, Bajwa,
00:33who has questioned law and order of the state and asking who is responsible that such an advisory is doing
00:38the rounds.
00:39Punjab's LOP, Pratap Singh Bajwa, is claiming police personnel are being advised not to travel in uniform.
00:45Wear your uniform only once you reach the police station.
00:49Bajwa is questioning the safety and targeting Bhagwan Tman over this,
00:53while Bhagwan Tman government is saying no such advisory or diktat has been given to the police personnel.
01:00Perhaps some tips have been advised to them as cops.
01:03But remember, in the backdrop of the men in uniform who have been murdered and shot dead.
01:09This could be extremely worrying if at all this is an official advisory or at least is the Punjab government
01:16testing waters
01:16because you don't want to tell the criminals and goons that the police personnel are in fear of their uniform
01:22because there has to be a fear of law and order against the criminals.
01:27And if the criminals tend to believe that police personnel should not wear their uniform,
01:32it will send a wrong message.

01:39Is this an official advisory?
01:41Is LOP saying there's an advisory doing the rounds?
01:44Because Punjab government says we haven't said any of this.
01:50Well, as soon as the day started today,
01:53we, Vikram Singh Majid here from Shuromani Akalidal, Congress, Pratab Bajwa, Raja Waring,
01:58they all came out of an advisory saying that the advisory has been issued.
02:03They posted in the Twitter handle saying that the police personnel should not give wear uniforms
02:09when they oscillate between home and offices, home and police stations.
02:14Whether they're going to office or they're coming back from the police stations to home,
02:17they should be in plain clothes at that time because there is a history to it
02:20because we have seen back-to-back incidents where Punjab police personnel have been targeted.
02:25Very unfortunate incident in which ASI Harjeet Singh was shot down recently.
02:29Before that, ASI just one thing was attacked.
02:31Before that, ASI Joga Singh was shot down.
02:33And before that, two cops were gunned down in Gurdaspur and they all were in uniform.
02:38With this advisory coming in and opposition coming in, all guns blazing at the government,
02:44the Punjab police headquarters issued a fact-check saying that no such advisory has been issued.

02:51However, there is, of course, a concern, I'm sure, among police personnel in Punjab
02:55and that must be looked at also at the earliest.
02:57They have to, they're the protectors of the state law.
03:00They cannot be living in a fear that emboldens criminals.
