00:00Hello, in this video we're going to go ahead and show you how to now take the Strike Trader Elite
00:05indicators that have been added to your MT4 platform through the installation.
00:12You should now see the indicators in your navigator window in the indicator section as the Strike Trader Elite Pulse
00:21and Strike Trader Elite Push indicators.
00:25So we're going to build up a basic chart. We're going to build up a few time frames and show
00:31you how to set up basic charts to get ready to start trading and utilizing primarily the FX Pulse indicator.
00:40That's the primary indicator. It's a hybrid momentum indicator. It's not MACD. It's not CCI. It's none of that. It's
00:49an indicator that's comparing different measurements of price movement and momentum
00:57and then plotting that for you in a way that you can see when momentum is building, when momentum is
01:06decreasing in a market regardless of the time frame that you're trading.
01:12So let's go ahead. Let's start with a Euro-US dollar chart. We'll set it to a five-minute chart.
01:19We'll go down to about the lowest time frame I would ever use.
01:22Just initially, let's look at some stuff on the MT4 platform. I notice a lot of MT4 traders have this
01:32particular row of tools and the time frame items set below wasting screen real estate on your MT4 platform.
01:43I would suggest you take those wherever they are and move them so that you have all four areas of
01:54tools set up horizontally taking up the minimum real estate possible on your screen.
02:02So it's kind of funny. I'll watch videos of somebody that's traded on the MT4 platform literally since back in
02:08the horse and buggy days and they still have these two items down below wasting screen real estate.
02:16You know, it's like, why not just move them and maximize the area you can put your charts.
02:22Let's first of all, let's explode this Euro-US dollar chart and we have it set to a five-minute.
02:30I'm going to lock down this chart. So basically we hold it on the hard right edge. If I wanted
02:39to step it back from the hard right edge, I would click that button.
02:43Click it again, goes back to the hard right edge. If I unclick the scroll, basically lock button, I can
02:52go in and move it and the screen won't pull back.
02:55If I select that button and I scroll back and let go, it will keep reverting back to the hard
03:01right edge. So that's just a preference.
03:04Now you can use the plus and minus to zoom out and grow the size of your candlesticks and spread
03:12out the view. We'll cover that as we add the indicators.
03:16But since we have an exploded view right now on a M5 or five-minute chart, let's go right-click
03:21and go into properties.
03:23And here's some properties that I like. I have background set to black, foreground white.
03:32I have my grid so I can barely see it. So I've gone into the grid. I've gone custom.
03:38I typed in the numbers 45, 45, 45. Add to custom colors. Click on that custom color. Hit OK.
03:49I've set my bar up, bar down, bowl candle to aqua. My bear candle to black.
03:56So it looks like the background of the screen. So they look hollow.
04:01And my line graph, I set to aqua. That way, all my wicks and all my candles are aqua.
04:08It's just a preference. You can go, you know, the typical lime for bar up and bowl candle.
04:16And you could go red for bear candle and line graph. Totally up to you.
04:22That's just a preference. I'm sorry, bar down and bear candle.
04:27You can have set to red. Totally up to you. Just a preference.
04:32So everything else looks good. I do want to show you the common section.
04:37Some traders do like to go scale fix. You hit OK.
04:42If you can see, you'll see a little white line here. I can left-click, grab the screen, move it
04:47up and down.
04:49I can left-click and hold and make adjustments.
04:52That gives you a little bit of additional flexibility with the chart.
04:55If I just want to turn that off, then I go back to Properties.
05:00I uncheck that, hit OK.
05:03And then MT4 will at least let me left-click in the right axis, hold, and scroll up and down
05:10to expand the chart.
05:13It's just your preference. You can play around with that feature.
05:17OK. I have everything aligned up here the way I like it.
05:21Not maximizing how much area I have to work with for my screen.
05:27And let's go ahead and I'm going to minimize the candlestick price for now.
05:34We'll kind of scrunch up price.
05:38And there we go. That's the maximum amount.
05:40You can see this area went shaded, so I can't...
05:43You can also left-click in the lower Date Time Group area.
05:48You can laterally move your mouse or cursor with a touchpad on a laptop or a mouse
05:56while you're holding the left key down to compress or expand price.
06:02I just want to make sure you guys understand some of the basic features of how you set your charts
06:07up.
06:08I like to have the order window in the upper left.
06:11You right-click. That's called One-Click Trading.
06:15You click on it.
06:17Let's click on Depth of Market.
06:19You can see that's like a dome, a depth of market, where you can set quantity.
06:26You can even set stop loss and target profits as you enter trades per the quantity you've set.
06:33It will go ahead and initiate the execution of the order and then place a stop and target for you.
06:42Just want to make sure you know that most brokers have this available and it's a floating window.
06:48Most traders tend to keep it.
06:50You have to keep it inside this framework of your MT4 platform.
06:56So that's another feature I wanted to make sure you're aware of.
07:00Of course, retail traders don't get access to volume.
07:04We get uptick, downtick information, so price movement information on a per-tick basis.
07:10We don't get to see bid-ask volume like futures traders and other market stock traders and related get to
07:18see.
07:19But that's okay.
07:20We don't have to have that volume information to trade the FX markets.
07:25We're trading price action and mainly momentum in our case.
07:32So let's go ahead and start with the FX pulse indicator.
07:37I will left-click and hold and drag that over to the screen.
07:43The group is tradingstrategyguides.com, Stripe Trader Elite Pulse.
07:49I go to common.
07:50I like to always check the Allow DLL Imports box.
07:56I'm going to hit Inputs.
07:58And let's explode this screen.
08:00We have a lot of capabilities in this indicator.
08:04We have a lot of stuff, technical available items for you to access in the settings.
08:12We have a first and second period that controls the sensitivity of the indicator and how sensitive our hybrid momentum
08:25indicator is to the momentum in the price movement.
08:30So it's a comparison.
08:31We're comparing two different items to plot that lower region indicator.
08:38So let's just go ahead.
08:39Let's just hit OK just so we populate the indicator so you can see it.
08:44Now we'll go ahead and expand out a bit.
08:48So here is the Stripe Trader Elite Pulse indicator.
08:52We're looking for pulses of momentum.
08:56We have an index threshold defined by horizontal lines.
09:01So we have to get X amount of momentum to the upside before we would trigger the potential of a
09:10signal.
09:11Just the same to the downside.
09:13Any action within these two horizontal gray lines, that's kind of the neutral or the zero zone.
09:20And that's when the market has a lack of directional momentum.
09:25Upside momentum is detected with our hybrid momentum indicator, downside momentum, and dissipating momentum.
09:35So after initial pulse of momentum to the downside, the market goes sideways.
09:40We're detecting that as dissipating momentum.
09:43And then many times, especially when we're on a short time frame, it has a lot of whipsaw price action
09:50as the market reacts to the day's trading activities, unscheduled news, or scheduled news.
09:57You can see when we have pushes of momentum, then the indicator detects that.
10:02And as the momentum wanes or decreases, the indicator shows that through divergence.
10:10So the good thing about the visual overall look of the indicator is you can use it to see the
10:17shifts from downside to upside momentum, upside to downside momentum, and we can see when the momentum is dissipating or
10:26increasing.
10:27Let me turn that off.
10:29Here's a big shift in momentum from downside price action.
10:34Price action starts to lift.
10:36We cross our zero zone.
10:40First time we plot some of the indicator above our neutral zone.
10:45We get a vertical line to plot.
10:48Green, you know, go long type indication or signal.
10:54As we get pulses of momentum or dissipation of that upside momentum, the indicator reflects that.
11:01And, you know, like a traditional, you know, like MACDs or CCIs or momentum indicators or OSMAs or all these
11:11other indicators, we can see when there's a dissipation in momentum.
11:17You know, price is going higher.
11:18You know, price is going higher, indicator peaks are getting lower.
11:22So we at least built this indicator visually to be familiar, but it's actually looking at momentum very different than
11:31a lot of typical momentum indicators.
11:36That is the basic look.
11:38Now, you have full trader adjustability to go in and change items.
11:43So let's right click.
11:45Let's go into indicator list.
11:48And let's double click on that.
11:50Pull up our custom indicator inputs window.
11:54So if I want to speed up the indicator, right now the default, 33 over 77, that is a very
12:00good setting to start out at.
12:04Experienced traders may go into this indicator setting and speed the indicator up or slow it down, depending on if
12:13they're going to lower time frames or higher time frames.
12:17The T3 period is an overlay indicator.
12:23That's not a primary component of the system.
12:28So anyhow, let's go in here.
12:30Let's just show you an example.
12:32Right now we're set at 33 by 77.
12:35So if I double that 33 number, it would be 66.
12:39So you can see the ratio of our two periods that we're comparing with two various indicators and then plotting
12:49the difference between the two as the indicator plot.
12:53It's roughly a little over 2 to 1 ratio.
12:57So if you are going to change the settings, I suggest you keep the ratio 2 to 1 or slightly
13:04greater than 2 to 1.
13:06For instance, let's say I went down to a 15.
13:10Then I need to have this indicator, if I was 2 to 1, I would have it set as a
13:1430.
13:1615 times 2 is 30.
13:19But I like it to be a little over.
13:21This indicator tends to like odd numbers, like I've noticed in a lot of indicators that I build.
13:28So let's go 15 and 35 or 37.
13:31That's a little over 2 to 1.
13:33And let's hit OK.
13:37And you can see the indicator becomes much more sensitive.
13:42Not a setting that I personally would ever use to trade the market on a 5-minute time frame.
13:49But I just wanted to show you there is flexibility in the options here, the settings, to adjust.
13:58So let's go back.
13:59Let's go up in size.
14:01So we were at 33 and 77.
14:06Let's go up.
14:07Let's go 53.
14:13And let's go 101.
14:19So let's grow the size.
14:21Now you can see the indicator lags a bit more.
14:25It's seeing bigger structural moves.
14:31So not only do we have the ability to adjust the sensitivity of how our hybrid momentum indicator is detecting
14:41and measuring price movement
14:43and looking for and identifying pulses of momentum, we can also vary the zone.
14:50We can make the zone tighter, so it's barely just slightly above and below the zero line, or we can
14:57expand it.
14:58So when you tighten the zone, you make the indicator more likely to trigger lots of signals, even when there's
15:07a lack of momentum.
15:09So that can be counterproductive.
15:11So let's go in and let's show you that setting.
15:15We call it the box lines level.
15:17That creates the box around the zero line.
15:21So if I was going to make this more sensitive, I shouldn't say more sensitive.
15:25If I was going to make the neutral zone smaller, a smaller area around the zero line, let's go in
15:34here and put a one and watch what happens.
15:39See how the neutral zone actually compresses around the zero line?
15:46So this is a good indication.
15:48If I grow the numbers on the indicator settings, if I lag the indicator and make it less sensitive,
15:57it's probably a good idea to then squeeze together or narrow my zone.
16:06Okay, let's go in here in the indicator.
16:09Let's just adjust this zone again.
16:11Let's go to a 0.0002.
16:17So we'll expand that zone just a little bit.
16:20And now it's expanded.
16:22So what this does is a lot of times the way momentum indicators are built,
16:29if a momentum indicator is built properly, you'll get a lot of what's called zero line area rejects.
16:36So let's say you have a market that's oscillating in an uptrend.
16:41What will happen on the initial push, you'll have a big pulse above the zero line and then it will
16:47come back to the zero line on a pullback,
16:51reject the zero line, and price will lift and make another wave higher.
16:57It might do it one time after initial pulse or it might do two, three, or four pulses in a
17:03row or waves in a row.
17:04So a lot of times you'll see the indicator come back to the indicator zero line area before it presses
17:11higher.
17:12Well, a lot of old school indicators, the indicator will spend a lot of time returning to the zero line.
17:20We've designed our indicator so when we are getting pullbacks and strong momentum,
17:25we stay away from the neutral zone, giving too many false signals.
17:30That is a component that's been built into the indicator.
17:34And you have to realize we're on a five-minute chart.
17:37So price is more erratic on lower time frames.
17:43So if I go to a one-minute chart, price is the most erratic, the most whipsaw,
17:49the least amount of smoothness to the price action that you can see visually by a quick glance at the
17:56chart.
17:57The higher I go in time frames, price action will tend to be more structural.
18:03You'll see the bigger moves and you won't see the noise.
18:07So in our opinion, after developing this and we utilize this indicator as one of our filters in a Forex
18:18fund that I operate,
18:21we utilize this on five-minute charts or higher.
18:24We never utilize this on a one-minute chart.
18:28You could use the indicator on a one-minute chart.
18:31You could lag the settings, slow them down for somebody that's experienced.
18:37So let's say you're trading quick pulses of momentum out of, let's say, a news release.
18:42The tool is exceptionally strong for helping you find and target and be patient
18:48until you get benchmark levels of upside momentum to then get in and work trades.
18:53You can use it for that.
18:56I didn't build the indicator for that.
18:58I built it to operate on five-minute time frames and above, mainly on our default settings.
19:05So let's go back into the indicator and let's go set us back to default of 33.77.
19:1877.
19:20And I'm going to go back here in the box lines level and set this back to a .003.
19:29If you like different coloring for your chart, no problem.
19:33Everything in this tool has trader-adjustable features.
19:38So right now we have the box lines level dim gray.
19:42You could color it aqua, you know, black.
19:45You could color it transparent so you don't even see it.
19:49You know, it's totally up to you.
19:50And then the width of the line, if you want this line to be more bold,
19:56you can go to a .003 or a .004.
19:58Or if you want to hardly see it, you could go to a .001.
20:03That is the basics of the initial settings.
20:08I suggest you leave the maximum bars back around 1,000.
20:13That means the indicator is looking at the current bar and then 999 bars back.
20:19You can go higher.
20:20That's fine.
20:21It won't hurt the indicator.
20:23But you will potentially use more MT4 resources if you're running, you know, 24, 30, 36 charts.
20:33You know, some traders are looking at a lot of markets.
20:36That's fine.
20:37Okay, now let's get into the pulse lines, whether we're getting set up to go long or short.
20:45You can turn those on or off through the true-false feature.
20:50So I will leave them to true.
20:52We want to see them.
20:53They are set as a dotted line with a minimum one thickness.
20:59So it's not overbearing on your chart visually.
21:02You can fatten up the line, make it a solid line, all trader-adjustable.
21:08We have the pulse up, a green color, and the pulse down, a red color.
21:15So you can adjust colors.
21:18So right now, we have everything back to the normal settings, default settings, pulse up line, pulse down line.
21:30You can turn the line on and off.
21:33Again, what we're doing with this system is we're looking for momentum.
21:39And when we see momentum shifting from downside to upside momentum, we're then getting ready to target trades.
21:49Let's get ready to take them?
