00:17at more than 17,000 outage reports for Facebook and more than 5,000 for Instagram. Reports fell
00:24sharply by about 10 p.m. Eastern time, indicating the services had largely recovered.
00:28Meta did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
00:33Downdetector said its figures are based on user-submitted reports, meaning the actual number
00:38of affected users may vary.
00:39Facebook and Instagram experienced a similar outage in July.
