00:09In a statement on Monday, Datuk Ismail Lassim said he was never consulted and never advised the ruler on dismissing
00:17any ex-co-member.
00:18Late on Sunday, the palace said the young Di Pirtuan Besar, Tuanku Muhri's Tuanku Munawir, had revoked the appointments of
00:26ex-co-members with immediate effect.
00:29The palace said they had broken the oath they took before the ruler on August 7th.
00:33This was over their actions on September 15th when they agreed to the removal of Tuanku Muhri's as young Di
00:39Pirtuan Besar.
00:40In a statement the next day, the ex-co-members said an April 19 proclamation removed Tuanku Muhri's and that
00:48Tuanku Nazaruddin, Tuanku Ja'afar was now the young Di Pirtuan Besar.
00:52But the Dewan Keadilan and Undang had earlier ruled that Tuanku Muhri's remains the lawful ruler and that there is
01:00no vacancy.
01:02The palace has asked the Mentri Besar to submit a list of new ex-co candidates for the ruler's consent.
01:07Ismail said that is not needed because the current ex-co remains valid as under the state constitution, the ruler
01:16acts on the advice of the Mentri Besar and the ex-co in administrative matters.
01:21He argued that the ruler cannot remove an ex-co member alone and that any change must be on the
01:27Mentri Besar's advice or request.
01:29He said any such action without it has no legal force.
01:33Ismail said the state government will keep defending the constitution and protect stability and the people's mandate.
