'THEY ARE IRRELEVANT''  During the 27th day of Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial, defense lawyer Justin Nicol Gular objected to the identification and authentication of corporate documents from Pikimong Pikimong Philippines and JTC Group of Companies. He explained that these documents had already been excluded from the prosecution’s requests for bank and AMLC records because the presiding officer ruled them irrelevant due to a lack of connection between Duterte and the corporations. 00:04Before we stipulate, Your Honor, we would like first to object to the identification and authentication of the witness of

00:11corporate documents

00:12belonging to Pikimong, Pikimong Philippines and JTC Group of Companies, Your Honor.

00:19I believe, Your Honor, and the presiding officer can recall, these were in fact excluded when the prosecution requested for

00:27subpoenas

00:28of bank records and AMLC records pertaining to these documents, Your Honor.

00:33And the ruling of the presiding officer is that they are irrelevant as there is no established connection between the

00:38respondent and these corporations, Your Honor.

00:41Now, in today's trial, the prosecution is seeking the witness to identify and authenticate precisely corporate documents

00:49belonging from these two corporations, Your Honor.

00:52We therefore object to the testimonial evidence on the identification of these documents.

00:56and, of course, at the proper time on the admission of these documentary exhibits, Your Honor.

01:02For the rest of the corporations, Your Honor, we do agree with the prosecution that to abbreviate the proceedings,

01:08the defense is willing to stipulate that the witness can identify these

01:11and that these are records from the Securities and Exchange Commission.
