The Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan has revoked the appointments of members of the state executive council with immediate effect, according to a statement issued by the Istana on Sunday (Sept 20).  The media statement said the decision was made after the Exco members were found to have violated their oath of office. 00:06appointments of members of the State Executive Council. The Istana announced this in a statement

00:12on Sunday, effective immediately. The statement said the decision followed a breach of oath by

00:18the EXCO members. They had taken and signed an oath and pledge of allegiance before the ruler

00:23on August 7th before their appointment. Under the State Constitution, an EXCO member other than

00:30the Mentri Besar holds office at the pleasure of the young Di-Pertuan Besar. The Istana said each

00:36affected member was informed individually by letter. Mentri Besar Datuk Ismail Lassim must now submit a

00:43list of candidates for the new EXCO for the ruler's consideration and consent. The ruler also expects

00:49the Mentri Besar to ensure the state administration continues without disruption. The Istana stressed

00:55that the interests of the people must remain safeguarded during the transition.
