00:05Despite a morning of blocked gates and hotel confinement,
00:08Tunku Nazaruddin Tuanku Jaafar has been officially proclaimed
00:12the 12th Young Dipartuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan.
00:15The proclamation ceremony took place not at a royal residence
00:18but at the club lounge on the first floor of a five-star hotel
00:21in neighbouring Melaka.
00:23Present in person were Undang Jalibu, Datuk Marof, Mat Rashad
00:27and Tunku Besar Tampin, Tunku Syed Razman.
00:30The remaining three Undang followed the proceedings live via Zoom.
00:35Former Mentri Besar Tan Sri Rais Yatim, who was present at the ceremony,
00:39said the process was carried out according to the state's adat,
00:42followed by a royal address and that it went smoothly,
00:45with police eventually leaving the scene.
00:47He declared that as of today, Tunku Nazaruddin is free to carry out his royal duties.
00:52Rais also raised a fresh legal challenge,
00:55questioning Thursday's dissolution of the Negeri Sembilan State Assembly.
00:59The weight of the declaration that the adun and the dun were already dissolved is questionable.
01:07Now that is a very big question and I would urge that all legal minds now focus to it.
01:12Under Article 28, the raja, or the ruler, includes the undang.
01:19But the undang were not consulted when the signing was done to dissolve the Dewan.
01:24This is a very serious, big matter.
01:27Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, however, has maintained that Tunku Muhriz,
01:33whom the state government recognizes as the rightful ruler,
01:36had given his consent to dissolve the assembly.
01:38With the proclamation done and a state election now on the horizon,
01:42Negeri Sembilan's constitutional crisis is far from over.
