Deep in the remote mountains of Zheng'an, Guizhou, lies Longtan Pool, a place locals dare not approach easily. The pool water is deep blue with crystal clarity. Beneath the surface hides an underwater fissure, home to small shrimps and frogs.
According to local legends, years ago people used eight large water pumps to drain the pool for three straight days and nights, yet they could never empty it. Water kept surging up from underground.
We put an action camera underwater to capture real footage of the pool bottom. We also interviewed local villagers on site to hear the stories behind this mysterious pool.
