Something is influencing the motion of our entire galaxy—and it’s called the Great Attractor. 🌌

The Milky Way is moving through space at hundreds of kilometers per second toward a region roughly 150–250 million light-years away.

The Great Attractor probably isn’t a single mysterious object. Scientists think it is associated with a huge concentration of galaxies and matter producing significant gravitational effects.

Much of this region is also difficult to observe because it lies behind the dense plane of our own Milky Way.

So what exactly is happening on these enormous cosmic scales?

The Great Attractor is one of the fascinating mysteries of our cosmic neighborhood.
