00:01A San Francisco neighborhood woke up to a wild surprise
00:05when a mountain lion was spotted roaming the streets
00:07just blocks from the Pacific Ocean.
00:09The animal was first seen around 7.30 Friday morning
00:13near 44th Avenue and Aloha Street in the Outer Sunset.
00:16Police warned neighbors to stay inside
00:19as wildlife crews spent hours trying to safely capture the animal.
00:25Back up, back up, back up!
00:32At one point, the mountain lion suddenly darted away from crews,
00:36sending residents and media scrambling back
00:38before it disappeared into some bushes.
00:41Officials eventually tranquilized the young mountain lion
00:44and safely captured it.
00:45After being examined by wildlife officials,
00:48it was released back into the wild.
