Police fire shots in the air as thousands of migrants moved to new facility in Ceuta

Migrants are being moved to a fifth temporary reception space set up to deal with the crisis, which began in late July when more than 70,000 people crossed into Ceuta from Morocco.

00:01On Friday, Spanish authorities began moving thousands of migrants to a new facility in Suta,
00:07with police struggling to maintain order as people fought to secure a spot at the new site
00:12after weeks of living on the beaches and streets.
00:16The transfer quickly became difficult to manage.
00:19The number of migrants sharply increased as they joined up,
00:23with some breaking into a run as officers worked to contain the crowd.
00:28It comes after Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Alvarez presented a package of measures this week
00:34aimed at moving towards the full integration of Suta and Melilla into the European Union.
00:40The measures include establishing a permanent seat for Suta and another for Melilla in the European Committee of the Regions,
00:46as well as increasing Frontex's presence in both territories, according to a statement from the Foreign Ministry.
00:54The government is also working to ensure specific treatment for Suta and Melilla in the next EU budget.
